Ten percent of China's gross domestic product is related to counterfeiting, and the Global Piracy & Counterfeiting Consultants fear the problem is much worse than anyone knows. More

Pawnshops in Central Florida and across the nation are booming, spurred on by the struggling economy, high gold prices and reality television shows. And as the industry grows to $6.1 billion in annual national revenue this year, it is going mainstream, with billboards, customer parties and even Groupon deals. During the past four years, the number of pawnshops registered in Florida has jumped 22 percent to 1,442. More

As they awaited Larry Snellings' funeral, his widow tearfully recalled the sad irony about the tragic way he died. His friend and employer also recounted the chaos that erupted during the recent shootout at South Clinton Pawn Shop in Tennessee. Snellings, 59, was shot in the left side of his neck with a new brand of .410 gauge shotgun by a customer who asked to see the weapon and then furtively loaded it. A police report said shop owner Ron Webber II heard a commotion, saw Snellings pushing the shotgun barrel away from him, and then watched as the gunman "stepped back and shot ..." More

EZCORP buys Money Mart stores in San Antonio

EZCORP Inc. has purchased 15 pawn stores in the San Antonio area that were previously part of the Money Mart chain. The purchase price was not disclosed. More
