Monsterpriceforgold.com beats pawnshops on all fronts
Response Source    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
According to the National Pawnbrokers Association (NPA), the recession has caused an upsurge in popularity of pawnshops. There are now over 900 pawnshops in the U.K. and this number is growing at 10 percent a year. About 3 million Britons don't have a bank account at all and many more find it hard to get credit cards and overdrafts because of poor credit ratings. They seek refuge in this old fashioned form of credit to make ends meet without realizing that they can often get more than twice as much for their unwanted gold by selling it to Monsterpriceforgold.com. The Shelton Police Department in Connecticut is looking out for grandma's stolen wedding ring — and any other hot precious metals that can be pawned or scrapped for cash. The police department wants to tighten the city's pawnbroker ordinance to help the department recover the goods faster. The proposed changes could also help make sure temporary precious metals dealers — like weekend "cash for gold" conventions — have a harder time setting up shop in town, said Chief of Police Joel Hurliman. bling-glorifying mural, name

The Daily News    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
A controversial Crown Heights pawnshop has found a new way to irritate neighborhood foes — picking an unpopular name and decorating its storefront with a flashy bling-themed mural. Eugene Josovips changed the name of his planned store from Community Pawn Brokers to Crow Hill Jewelry — in what some see as a slap to the Crow Hill Community Association, which led protests against the business. And he decked out the front of the shop with an eye-catching mural that features stacks of cash, piles of gold, and a baby wearing a massive gold dollar sign around its neck. More
