Texas pawnshop owner works to change industry's image

Jeff Mercer said his Cash Capital Pawn in Longview, Texas, will offer patrons traditional pawnshop services in a clean, wholesome environment. "We are not your ordinary pawnshop," Mercer said in August. "We are working hard, investing a lot, and are determined to change the image of the pawnshop." Mercer said the shop opened in April with the customer in mind — focusing on quality power tools, new and used firearms, televisions, a broad range of electronics, musical instruments, games, DVDs, jewelry and gold and silver.
