    OESP
We will host our meeting at 10 a.m., March 28, at the Marriott, in Farmington, Connecticut. Many of you know that our meetings are open to anyone, but you need to be a designated director in order to cast any votes that may occur. We do have a proposed by-law change that will be discussed, so make sure that your chapter officers share that information with you.

Friday, March 27, we will have an opportunity to visit the new Carlin Factory. If you'd like to attend any of these functions, please register online. You can do that by visiting our calendar.

There will be something for spouses to do on Saturday, and that evening we will have dinner at a very fun and popular restaurant.

    Summer planning session
    OESP
Every couple of years, we host a summer planning session. In the past we called it a Service Managers Forum, but we'll think about a new title for this upcoming session. It will be held Aug. 5-6 at a new property in the Poconos, Kalahari.

The goal of this session to look out three to five years and create a business plan for the association. What type of classes does our membership need, how do we generate the money we need to deliver the programs, etc?

If you would like to join our Executive Board and others, please hold the date or simply email jgarber@thinkoesp.org, and she will hold a spot for you. We encourage each chapter to get at least one of their members to this meeting. We will have just the right mix of work and pleasure.

Are you indispensable to your customers?
    By Adrian Davis
As you look at your customer base, are there any customers who really can't do without you? If not, you could be in big trouble. Our economy is fragile, and it is no longer sheltered from the unpredictable upheavals overseas. Anything that happens anywhere in the world can cause an economic downturn in North America, resulting in difficult financial challenges for your customers. The easiest way to deal with these challenges is to simply stop paying suppliers. Sometimes that means altogether, and other times, it means delaying payments until cash flow improves. Either way, it means trouble for you.
