The passing of an industry friend

The Association learned that Freddie Deangelo of Wakefield, Mass., passed away Nov. 27 at the age of 56. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Freddie's memory to the Italian Home for Children, 1125 Centre St., Jamaica Plain, Mass., 02130. Freddie was with Waterair and Metromatic. He will be missed by many in our industry.

Team members Tom Harris, John S., of McCarthy Oil in Wethersfield, Conn., spearheaded the Louis & Rose Bilodeau project. Fellow members Bill McDermott, Berk Little, John Sheek and Lou Spada worked together to give this couple a new boiler.

The Bilodeau's are amazing people. Louis is 92 years of age and served in the Army Air Corp in WWII. His wife, Rose, is 86 years of age. They have lived in their home since 1952. Both have survived cancer and heart bypass surgeries. Their goal is to live their remaining years in their home.

Snow follows cold November, but warmer winter forecast in Maine

The first significant snowfall of the year in Maine followed a colder than normal November, but the long-term prediction still calls for a warmer than usual winter. Even with a cold November, heating oil prices in Maine were down compared to last year, with oil costing $3.53 per gallon last month compared to $3.66 per gallon a year ago, according to the Governor's Energy Office.
