Please join us for this one day seminar with a special keynote from educational instructional and technology visionary Dr. Cathy Mincberg, President and CEO, Center for Reform of School Systems (CRSS) and Dr. Jennifer Frentress, school time design expert with TimeWise. Learn about how to leverage the currency of time to optimize your financial resources and, ultimately, teaching and learning.

Cathy Mincberg has worked at the forefront of public education reform as a 14-year veteran school board member in the Houston Independent School District, the Chief Academic Officer for a distance learning company and as a Chief Operating Officer in two urban districts, Houston and Portland. Dr. Mincberg has increased productivity in these districts while realizing significant cost savings, actually doing more with less. She has joined with TimeWise to focus on the twin challenges of the need for meaningful amounts of time embedded in the school day for teacher professional development and declining financial resources.

CRSS and TimeWise have joined with Amplify to create School by Design (SxD), framework that combines software and supporting services to help districts and schools make the most of their valuable resources of time and staff.

The SxD work begins with an audit of your current use of staff and time data. The software will give you correct, connected and available data for informed decision making. Finding time through the data analysis leads to strategic improvement planning for the district and its schools. Those plans will be based on district priorities to drive resource allocation, enrollment, diversity of courses, master schedules, budgets staffing, professional development and policies. Districts also build internal expertise so that this work can continue on an annual cycle.

Dr. Jennifer Frentress will discuss three case studies (Bridgeport, Connecticut, Lake Co., Florida, and Fresno, California) where time for embedded PD was created while maximizing teaching and learning to address the specific needs of these districts. In Lake Co, Florida, an additional $1,000,000 in cost savings was also identified.
