RV Park Offers Free Stay for Displaced Families

Wildfires swept through a coastal region of South Carolina and threatened North Myrtle Beach, destroying about 70 homes and forcing more than 2,500 people to evacuate. In all, the wildfire that ignited on April 22 has burned more than 30 square miles. Now, Carrollwoods RV Park and Vineyard at Grapefull Sisters Vineyard in Columbus County, N.C., is opening their campgrounds to families displaced by the wildfires. Troubled RV Fabric Maker Adopts a Brand New Bag

A northern Indiana company that made window coverings and bedding for recreational vehicles, has switched to purses and shopping bags now that the market for RVs has soured in the economic downturn. Decorator Industries hopes to recall several dozen laid-off workers as it begins making the new products at its factory in Goshen, Ind., an area that has been battered by layoffs in the recreational vehicle industry. RV Enthusiasts Say Camping is the Cheapest Way to Travel

Ninety two percent of RV enthusiasts say itís cheaper to stay in a campground or RV resort than a hotel or motel, and many derive additional savings by cooking some or all of their own meals, according to the latest online survey by the Texas Association of Campground Owners.
