Thor Motor Coach announced a substantial increase in year to date sales in comparison to the same time period last year. Flash floods rough up RV park in Fries, Va.

Recent flash flooding in Fries, Va. nearly washed away a small camper at the New River RV Park. The camper belongs to Tim Bost, who traveled from Salisbury, N.C., and is on vacation with his family. Campground owner Tom Guy says he traded paint with the small chalet, to keep it from floating into town.

Kemo Sabay Campground, Hot Springs, S.D.

Kemo Sabay Campground is a quiet safe park on 80 acres at the foot of Battle Mountain. The campground has 24 total RV sites and can accommodate any size RV. Kemo also has 15 full hookups, 20/30 amp service, six acres of tent sites, four comfort stations, showers, restrooms, laundry and a dump station. The site is close to Evans Plunge, which is filled by numerous sparkling springs and one mammoth spring of mineral water. Visitors will enjoy miles of hiking trails, three lakes and golf course. The campground is located on 90 acres at the foot of Battle Mountain in the scenic Black Hills of South Dakota.

California announces plan to close 70 parks

California state parks officials recently announced the closure of 70 parks because of the state budget deficit. Gov. Jerry Brown's January budget plan proposed reducing the state parks budget by $22 million. The Legislature in March approved $11 million in cuts to state parks and $10 million in cuts to off highway vehicle parks in the next fiscal year, with $22 million in cuts to state parks in future years.
