Shares in German carmaker Porsche have soared after a U.S. judge dismissed a lawsuit that had threatened to derail a planned merger with Volkswagen Two hedge funds claimed more than $2 billion in damages over a 2008 deal in which Porsche bought a stake in VW. More

Porsche confirms debut of new supercar concept at Detroit Auto Show

Ending all speculation, Porsche has confirmed that it will debut a new supercar concept at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show that starts in January. Though the company refrained from providing more details, the vehicle is expected to have a twin-turbo V8-powered engine capable of producing 600 hp. In addition, the supercar is to be a mid-engined machine with an AWD system. Also, the body can be expected to incorporate a considerable amount of carbon fiber for lightness. More

Porsche shifting Boxster, Cayman production to former Karmann facility

Volkswagen snatched up the remains of German coachbuilder Karmann last year, saying it would begin building a new model within the facility by 2011. VW revealed that new model to be a new Golf Cabrio, but it seems it won't be alone for long: the factory appears to be ready to build the next-generation Porsche Boxster and Cayman within the next few years. More
