Save the Date — 59th annual Porsche Parade
PCA
The 59th annual Porsche Parade, PCA's annual convention, will be held in Monterey, Calif., June 15-21, 2014. It is a week-long extravaganza of competative events, tech sessions, social events and FUN.

Registration begins March 11, and links for registering will be on pca.org and parade2014.pca.org at that time. Keep checking parade2014.pca.org for information on events.

The conference center at the Hyatt in Monterey will host many of Parade's staples (Goodie Store, Tech Sessions, the Art Show, etc.) and two of our five banquets. Three of the banquets will be held at various offsite locations. We have blocks of rooms available at five local hotels, and anticipate that many people will stay throughout the area.

Discount rates for the hotels will be sent to entrants upon registration.

We look forward to a spectacular event, and hope you will join us!

Chills and thrills: A wintry drive in Boxster convertible
By Joseph Cavalcante
It's snowing steadily here today; the weathersayers forecast a two-day snowstorm. In the great Northeast, low-mileage Porsches spend five icy months a year under covers juiced by tickle chargers, shielded from road salt and sand, gas tanks laced with stabilizer, maybe rolled a few feet across the garage once a month to save the tires. The paucity of sunlight truly makes November to March a dark age here. That fluttering snow felt a season away only six weeks ago, on the night before Thanksgiving.

Inside Porsche's secret museum warehouse
Autoblog
Tucked down an alley in Stuttgart, Germany, is an unmarked gray warehouse that hides an impressive collection of rare and priceless Porsche models from the automaker's past. Technically, the 100,000 square foot climate-controlled facility is a storage area for the Porsche Museum that is located a meandering 10-minute walk away. But unlike the very public museum, which has welcomed over two million visitors since it opened in 2009, the storage facility is private and entrance is strictly controlled.

Video: Comedy is a Concealed Weapon
Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee

It's not everyday that we witness a 1949 Porsche 356 "Gmünd" coupe, let alone one driving around the streets of Los Angeles. With Jerry Seinfeld at the wheel and Jay Leno in the passenger seat. But that's what happens in Seinfeld's latest episode of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.

Seinfeld's 1949 356 is the 40th built in Porsche's factory in Gmünd, Austria (hence the car's nickname), with a body that was hammered into shape by hand. Despite its age, he says the car retains all of its original parts! The shape of these early cars still influence Porsche vehicle design today, which is seen in the curves of the latest 911s.

Both Seinfeld and Leno are Porsche aficionados, a fact that shines through in this nearly 15-minute spot. If you have some spare time, it's worth checking out the video, if not for the hilarious banter between the two comedy legends, then to see a Gmünd coupe being driven around Los Angeles in all its glory. Enjoy!

Has the Porsche 911 GT2 reached the end of its run?

The current Porsche 911 Turbo S utilizes its 3.8-liter boxer six-cylinder engine, which produces 560 horsepower, to make the 0-60 mile per hour dash in just 2.9 seconds. Keep that throttle pushed to the floor and, with enough room, you'll hit 198 mph.
