PCA and Porsche unveil 2015 911 GTS Club Coupe [w/video]
PCA
Porsche Club of America is excited to announce the new Porsche 911 GTS Club Coupe, the product of collaboration between PCA and Porsche to honor our club’s 60th anniversary. It was unveiled Jan. 21 at Porsche Cars North America’s new headquarters at One Porsche Drive in Atlanta.

Handcrafted at Porsche Exclusive and based on the 911 Carrera GTS, it was developed with input from members of PCA’s Executive Council to include features that can’t be found on any other Porsche model. Only 60 GTS Club Coupes will be made, for PCA members only, ensuring that they stay in the PCA family and remain exotic like the last PCA Club Coupe from 2005.

Porsche Cars North America announces Rennsport Reunion V date change
PCA
Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca have announced that Rennsport Reunion V will now take place on the weekend of September 25-27, 2015, two weeks earlier than the original date, October 9-11, 2015. An unforeseen scheduling conflict with the World Endurance Championship (WEC), in which the 919 Hybrid competes, compelled them to change the date so that the 919 Hybrid, 911 RSR (WEC version), and their drivers could attend the event.

Apply for 60 Porsches for 60 Years
PCA
PCA's 60th Anniversary Porsche Parade Celebration in French Lick, Indiana will honor our members and their cars. Our goal is to have a PCA member's Porsche represent each of the 60 years of the Porsche Parade and the Club's history — from 1955 through 2015. 60 cars representing 60 years of PCA. (Actually 61 cars, but who's counting?) The 60 4 60 display will be a walk down memory lane with placards documenting each car and year. Placards will detail fun facts about that particular year in the Club's history, Porsche news, and, of course, information about the selected car and its owner.

2016 Porsche 911 spied testing: Mild facelift and sub-turbo turbo models coming
Car and Driver
Late last year, reports surfaced that Porsche was to expand the 911’s availability of turbocharged flat-sixes beyond the eponymous Turbo and Turbo S models — and soon. While we’re not exactly fans of the move, it makes sense in a world facing ever-more-stringent fuel-economy standards, and it seems that it’s time to wave goodbye (at least in part) to the 911’s revvy and delicious-sounding naturally aspirated engines. These spy photos, which Car and Driver snagged in environs close to its Ann Arbor, Michigan, offices, depict what appear to be facelifted non-Turbo/Turbo S 2016 911s running turbocharged engines.

Can an all-turbo Porsche 911 range really be labelled 'progress'?
Goodwood Road & Racing
Goodwood Road and Racing’s Chris Harris writes, "Dr. Wolfgang Hatz, boss of Porsche’s R&D edifice confirmed what we’d all feared last week: that from 2016 all Porsche 911 models bar the extreme GT3 versions will use turbocharged engines. It simply follows an industry-wide move to forced induction that makes me wish I’d bought shares in a turbocharger company five years ago. In the most part I’m a supporter of forced induction on everyday cars, but I have my reservations about its seep into the Porsche 911 range."

Hardcore Porsche Boxster in development for 2016 launch
Autocar
A more sporting version of the Porsche Boxster, which could become a successor to 2011's Boxster Spyder, is in development. The new car, spied here during winter testing, could resurrect the missing Club Sport name from Porsche's lineup. At the recent Detroit Motor Show, Porsche boss Wolfgang Hatz confirmed that a new, more sporting Boxster model was on the cards, although he said it would not adopt the GT4 moniker like the upcoming hot Cayman.

Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche issue recalls for fuel leaks
The Associated Press via ABC News
Audi, Volkswagen and Porsche are recalling more than 80,000 cars and SUVs worldwide to fix fuel leak problems. The recalls cover the Audi A6 and Volkswagen Touareg hybrid from the 2012 model year, the Audi A7 from 2012 and 2013, and the Audi Q7, S4 and S5 from 2011 through 2012. All the vehicles have 3-liter V-6 engines, according to documents posted Jan. 27 by U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Also, the documents show a separate but similar recall from Porsche covering the Cayenne and Panamera S hybrids from 2011 to 2012 for a similar problem.

What do you think of this Porsche Cayman GT? [w/video]
The Sports Car Guys
For a while many have wondered what a high performance Porsche Cayman would be like. Well, we should soon find out as the GT4 will be making its debut this year. Until then a few enthusiasts have done their best to build what they think a Cayman race car for the street would be like. These cars look more aggressive than a standard 987 or 981 and take many styling themes from the GT3. This video captures a custom Porsche Cayman (987) and shows the styling changes that make the mid-engined German sports car look similar to a GT3. We don’t know if the suspension and engine have upgrades, but we would like to think that it has the power to match the look.

Porsche of the Week
PCA
"In 2011, after nine years of painstaking restoration of my Euro-spec, Sonauto-delivered 1958 356A Super coupe, my then 99-year-old dad asked, 'Will I EVER get a ride in your Porsche?' It had been a bare metal, ground-up affair, and the car finally was close enough to completion that I was comfortable driving it. My dad was elated to get a ride like I promised him! He died several months later at OVER 100 years. But promise kept!"
