Video: PCA members get first look at GTS Club Coupe at Daytona 24
PCA
Porsche and Porsche Club of America have spent the past three years working to bring the 911 GTS Club Coupe to fruition to commemorate the club’s 60th Anniversary this year. After it debuted at PCNA’s new headquarters at One Porsche Drive, it made the trek from Atlanta to Daytona Beach so our members could see it in the metal at the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

We had our cameras out for the occasion, so watch the first video below to see the GTS Club Coupe in public for the first time, in front of members’ eyes, and the second video to see their initial impressions of it.

Video: Porsche Museum acquires its first '901,' starts ground-up restoration (and Cayman GT4 spotted!)
PCA
When Porsche began production of its new, six-cylinder 901 sports car in September 1964, it didn't foresee Peugeot, a French automaker, taking issue with it. But Peugeot had been naming its passenger cars with two numbers and a zero in between for years and had the exclusive right in France to that naming scheme. So Porsche changed the 901's name to 911 in October, after 82 "901s" had been built. This is one of those earliest cars, chassis number 57, and it sat for years, whereabouts unknown. Fortunately it was found and purchased by Porsche and will receive a restoration headed by the Porsche Museum workshop, using as many original parts as possible.

Buying this 1983 SC Targa was a great decision
By Michael G. Horton
I had always been a big Healey fan. Coming back to the San Francisco Bay area in 1999 after a three-year assignment overseas, I decided to look for number five. However, when my wife and I got to the agency where a 1967 BJ8 was advertised, it had already been sold. I was ready to head for home when my wife called me over to look at a Porsche at the back of the showroom. It was a 1983 SC Targa with 18,000 miles on it, and it was in immaculate condition.

We prove experts wrong about declining car culture
MotorsportReg.com
Motorsportreg.com had a record-breaking year with 207,000 driving event registrations, evidence it says proves experts wrong about declining car culture. Porsche Club of America is well known for putting on driving events across the country, and it uses the website for many event registrations. We contacted Brian Ghidinelli of Motorsportreg.com and found out that our club members contributed 30,171, up 9.4% from 2013. While he says that rate of growth is lower than average, the number of events per year per PCA member grew by 5.1%, a higher-than-average rate of growth. Head over to Motorsportreg.com’s blog post to read more!

Corvette ZR-1 or Porsche 928 GTS: Which would you buy?
Bold Ride
V-8 coupes, what isn't there to love? The formula of eight whirring cylinders up front and power sent to the back isn't revolutionary, but arguably it's the best for going fast and inducing smiles. It's no secret either. The car-builders of the world embrace the tried-and-true V8 coupe. But that made us wonder, who does it best?

The Porsche 928 test mules — Audi 100 Coupé V3/V4
Flüssig
I would go so far as to say that one of the most interesting aspects of producing a new Porsche lies in the rolling test beds in which the running gear is proven. This, I gather, must be the fun part for the engineers as the donor car must be selected, then stripped of its existing gear to accommodate the new, requiring gussets, brackets, and frames to be welded onto the former car's skeleton so that the fit is somewhat seamless. The lucky person is he who is given a stipend, a pat on the shoulder, and told to run along and comb the used car lots around the Sudetenland for a specific donor…this time, it would be an Audi 100 Coupé.

Porsche revs up its plug-in car plans
PluginCars.com
Porsche has already produced two plug-in electric vehicles for the U.S. market, as well as the outrageous — but recently sold out — 918 Spyder plug-in supercar. However, the currently available plug-in versions of the Panamera and Cayenne are, according to recent statements from executives, just the beginning of the brand’s vehicle lineup that could add an entire lineup of plug-in hybrid and all-electric models in the coming years. This might include an all-electric Porsche with 200-plus mile range.

Road testing the 2015 Porsche Boxster GTS: Moonlight drives and mountain climbs
ForbesLife
Storm passed, diamond-studded clouds eddying over high meadows, windows up, airdam between the roll hoops creating a tranquil bubble of warm air in the cockpit — and no one in the canyon but a few cyclists and a lone Caltrans crew shoveling away a rockslide. Boxster GTS completes this romantic sports car idyll, reaffirming its decade-long title as the best sports car available under $100,000. In current form, Boxster GTS is so accomplished one can argue it offers a better sports car experience than many cars half-again as expensive.
