2014 Porsche 911 builds on the sports car's laudable heritage
Consumer Reports via Yahoo Autos
The legendary, lust-worthy Porsche 911 has just celebrated its 50th birthday, and it’s never looked better. We’re not talking mere cosmetics, here. Although the iconic styling is unmistakable, the 911 has evolved under the skin for decades. And based on our time behind the wheel, this latest iteration improves the breed.

Porsche Targa gets back to its roots
By David Hurth
At the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, one of the big debuts was the new Porsche 911 Targa. The rear-engined sports car is a throwback to the early days of the Targa, but with a modern twist. The Targa was originally introduced in 1967 and allowed open-air driving thanks to a removable hard top panel. The design allowed for a roll bar that made it safer in the event of a rollover and more rigid than a standard convertible. Over the years, the Targa kept the same basic design, until it was changed in 1996. With the 991 variant of the Targa, Porsche has returned to the original style.

Porsche board members facing another €1.8 billion lawsuit over VW takeover bid
Autoblog
Back in 2008, Porsche got the bright idea that it could take over Volkswagen in the midst of the worst economic slump since the Great Depression. Ignoring that this was a catastrophic move for the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer that resulted in it nearly going bankrupt and eventually being taken over by the same company it sought to control, the aftermath has left Porsche Chairman Wolfgang Porsche and board member Ferdinand Piëch in the crosshairs of seven hedge funds that lost out during the takeover and are now seeking €1.8 billion — US$2.43 billion — in damages from the two execs, according to the BBC.

Watch Porsche show how a pit stop can be a thing of beauty
Jalopnik
The pit stop might be the most overlooked part of racing by the casual observer. In fact, it's a carefully coordinated machine of skill and precision, with thousands of things going on at once. Slow it down, and throw on a little Edith Piaf, and it becomes a dance all its own.

A day in the life of a vintage Porsche owner
By Noelle Talmon
I affectionately call my black 1976 911S "Smoky," because the first week I owned him smoke billowed out of the engine compartment while I was driving around my neighborhood. Fearing my skills behind a Volkswagen didn't translate into the more difficult Porsche clutch, I was relieved to discover it was just the heat exchange hose that had popped off and needed adjustment.

Porsche of the Week
PCA

This is my 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera. I was out driving with one of my buddies and quickly stopped to photograph this image on the Maine/New Hampshire border during an amazing sunset just as the sun was saying it's final goodbye for the night. I still enjoy taking my 911 out for a drive on some terrific back roads in my region.
