Video: Porsche's Head of GT Cars shares details of Cayman GT4
PCA
Porsche announced the Cayman GT4 Feb. 3, a true driver's Porsche with 385 horsepower and a manual transmission, but information about the car's specifications, development process, and how much it actually shares with the GT3 was thin in Porsche's press release. Fortunately Andreas Preuninger, head of GT cars at Porsche Motorsport, shares such details in this EVO video interview that was published when the GT4 was announced.

Porsche unveils Cayman GT4
PCA
Porsche announced the new Porsche Cayman GT4 Feb. 3, a 385-horsepower, six-speed manual, mid-engined sports car that has clocked a 7-minute and 40-second lap time around the Nürburgring Nordschleife. For the record, that’s five more horsepower than the 2004 911 GT3, the same Nordschleife lap time as the 2011 911 GT3, and just eight seconds slower around the track than a 605-hp Carrera GT.

What you need to know about maintaining a 944
By Skip Kuhn
944s are great cars that can be had at a really reasonable price. What seems to cause consternation among some first-time buyers is the cost of ownership when things like timing belts and clutches come due for service. That's when the grumbling begins. Porsche cars require Porsche maintenance, new, used or otherwise.

Porsche 901 concept looks good from any angle
Bold Ride
In 1963, the Porsche 901 made its world debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show. If you haven’t heard of it, that’s because Peugeot practically shut down the 901 project before it even started. But the Germans decided to simply replace the 0 with a 1, and thus an icon was born. But what if they had kept the 901 nameplate around for future use? I don’t know, say, here and now in 2015? That’s what designer Ege Arguden envisioned with his throwback Porsche 901 concept.

Raising a kid costs almost exactly as much as a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup
Black Flag
Stef Schrader writes, "The latest article I came across on #millenials at Refinery 29 had a curious statistic: it now costs over $245,000 to raise a middle-class kid to the age of 18. That's an interesting number because it only costs $243,273 (before tax) to buy a new 991-generation Porsche 911 GT3 Cup."

Porsche wins home advantage after zip code clash with fund
Bloomberg
Porsche SE won home-court advantage in a $195 million dispute with a hedge fund as judges ruled a dispute may stay in Stuttgart even though the carmaker omitted the zip code when it sent its lawsuit to Cayman Islands-based Pendragon (Master) Fund Ltd. The decision may enable a legal fight over Porsche’s failed 2008 bid for Volkswagen AG to take place in its German hometown rather than Pendragon’s choice of London. The local judges hearing the case will still have to determine whether Stuttgart is the right venue.

Porsche 911 Carrera: The dual-clutch gearbox alone is worth the price of admission
Ars Technica
Thanks to an extremely generous family member, Cars Technica spent some quality time with Porsche’s latest flavor of 911 on a recent vacation. And since we just reviewed one of its oldest and deadliest rivals (the Corvette), we thought a mini-review of the rear-engined German icon was in order. We only had a day — rather than a week — behind the driver’s seat, so there are some aspects of the car that we didn’t test too closely. But the impression that emerged over the course of our time with the vehicle was this is a car with some clever tricks up its sleeve, enough to disguise the fact that its engine is in the wrong place. In particular, the 911's dual clutch gearbox really is a technological marvel.

Video: Tesla Model S P85D vs. Porsche 911 Turbo S, with Aventador cameo
Carscoops
Turns out, if you want to leave basically anything with wheels in your rear view mirror, just put your Tesla Model S P85D into "Insane" mode. The Porsche 911 Turbo S is one of the fastest accelerating cars in the world, hands down. It's a beast. It needs just 3.1 seconds to get from 0 to 62 mph and it will keep going to 318 km/h if you'll let it. The Tesla Model S P85D is a different type of beast, yet still "lethal" when it comes to putting its power down and giving you instantaneous torque.
