Porsche sets US sales record, with eye on further growth in 2014
By Becky Bicks
Porsche sales are one thing that hasn't suffering in today's cloudy economic environment. The company set a new record with 42,323 vehicles sold in the U.S. in 2013, a jump of 21 percent. Matthias Müller, the CEO of Porsche AG, attributes the growth in sales primarily to the wide range of attractive models, including the Macan. The Boxster Series, which includes the new Cayman, and the new 918 Spyder, 911 GT3, 911 Turbo S and the "50 Years 911" exclusive model are expected to add to the excitement surrounding Porsche sales in 2014.

What makes PCA Tech Tactics events sell out? Here's why ...
PCA
Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brake rotors vary in density. The 964 Turbo’s ignition system is sensitive to transient electrical problems — keep the battery charged! The 2014 911 RSR’s new sequential transmission is 10 inches shorter than the last one. A key development requirement for the new RSR’s brakes was 600 consecutive "stubs" from 180-60 miles per hour — with no failures. The Macan’s clamshell hood is the largest aluminum vehicle part being manufactured today, according to Daniel Vasiliadis, the SUV’s head of marketing and sales.

Oh yes. This was Tech Tactics East 2014, held at Porsche Cars North America’s Northeast Regional Support Center in Easton, Pa.
