Video: PCA Club Racing: Driver perspectives
PCA
Porsche Club of America started PCA Club Racing back in 1991, and it has since grown into the premier North American amateur racing program for Porsche drivers. Club Racing Logistics Coordinator David Zajano and I visited Summit Point Raceway in September for a club race to find out what it’s all about and why racers keep coming back season after season. We had our cameras rolling, so head below to get a taste of PCA club racing culture and see some on-track action.

2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 review
Automobile Magazine
The hardest-core Porsches traditionally wear the GT badge. Maybe not the GTS moniker, which is usually 60 percent looks and 40 percent content, at best. But put together GT and a number, and you almost assuredly have a hair-raising sports car. Like the GT1, the most fearsome 911 ever conceived. Or the GT2, the most potent rear-wheel-drive iteration of the breed. Then of course, there’s the GT3 and GT3 RS, which are, in essence, hot and super-hot street-legal track cars. The latest addition to the wild and wonderful GT family is the 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4. It’s a performer.

Porsche will build a Cayman GT4 race car
Black Flag
In proof that Porsche loves us and wants us to be happy, they didn't just slap "GT4" badges on the back of the latest, greatest Cayman for the lulz. According to Sportscar365, they're going to build a race car out of it. Porsche CEO Matthias Müller said that the GT-spec Cayman race car will be revealed by the end of this year at last week's Geneva Motor Show. However, Porsche Motorsport North America President Jens Walther wasn't able to confirm many other details to Sportscar365.

Of cars and attitudes: No replacement for a Porsche
By Andres Jordan
This story is about a revelation I had recently when driving an entry-level econobox for an extended period of time. The car belonged to my niece, who was living with us and starting her career in the hotel industry. The reason for this circumstance was due to my '88 Carrera being in the shop. I found myself on a long exit ramp merging onto North 495, the dreaded beltway in Washington, D.C., region. It is 7 p.m. on a Tuesday night, and traffic is heavy.

How 1970s racing rules led to the most badass Porsche 911 you can buy
[w/video]

Jalopnik
Most Porsche 911s are fast. Some are faster than others, but generally fast is the entire point. But none are as hardcore, as purpose-driven, as racing-focused as the RS models, like the new 2016 911 GT3 RS that just debuted at the Geneva Motor Show. If you want to know the full history of the RS line, or if you want a video tour of the stunning new one, look no further than this video from our friends at XCAR. And while no one outside of Porsche has driven the latest GT3 RS yet, they also include a review of the last-generation GT3 RS to show what the new one is trying to top.

Picks for the very best from the 2015 Geneva Auto Show
Car and Driver
The Geneva Auto Show isn't easy to cover — after all, it's two straight days of sticking out your pinkie when drinking champagne, nursing a stomach stuffed with German currywurst, and suffering major jealousy of rich dudes cruising the city's streets in absurd cars. Similarly, picking the best of the best from this show seemingly gets harder each year. To manufacturers, Geneva is a big deal, and thus everybody has some major debut or concept car. Now that the press preview is complete, we've sifted the great from the merely good to compile the 10 best cars at Geneva — enjoy the show!

Mayhem has been our quintessential build for the 997 Turbo platform. We have given our hearts and souls in order to produce the world’s fastest Porsche and elevate the aftermarket Porsche performance to the highest level. Countless hours of research and development, road tests, rebuilds, tuning, and competition have pushed us to reach pinnacle performance out of this machine. Our final product is a powerful, reliable, light, and poised car that is truly like no other Porsche. Making over 1500 horsepower from our 4.0 liter flat six and getting all the power to the ground so that we can run fast times, not just produce dyno numbers, is what wakes us up in the morning. 2015 12 Hours of Sebring Porscheplatz and car corral
PCA

It’s professional road racing time again in Sebring, FL. Porsche Cars North America and PCA will again host our annual Porscheplatz during the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh from Florida. Porscheplatz dates are March 20 – 21, 2015. As usual, our Porscheplatz will feature a Porsche-only dedicated car corral and a hospitality tent where you can relax, have a cold beverage, and watch the races on two 60-inch cable TVs. You can watch presentations by Porsche Motorsports North America, Porsche North America team drivers, and sponsors such as Mobil 1 and Michelin. You can sign up for Parade Laps on Friday. The first 100 cars will be able to enjoy a driver’s eye view of the famous Sebring race course. And as usual, your ticket gives you access to the paddock where you can see the cars and drivers up close and personal.

This year’s race is the second year of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, America’s all-new premier sports car racing Series. The Series was created by the merger of the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car and American Le Mans organizations, both of which had a long history of competing at Sebring. The TUDOR Championship features two styles of cars, Prototype and GT (Grand Touring). Each style of car has two classes, Pro and Pro-Am, meaning there are four classes of racing on track together, each with their own battle for the lead. In addition to the TUDOR races you can watch racing from the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge, Cooper Tires Prototype Lites, and the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama.

This could be a great opportunity to watch racing reminiscent of the 1965 Twelve Hours of Sebring that is considered by many to be the greatest race ever at Sebring. The Ford GT 40 and Ferrari were considered the favorites but the Chaparrals of Jim Hall were the dark horse. And the Chaparrals eventually won the race despite a torrential rain storm. And the winning Chaparral is returning to Sebring this year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of that great race,

Please purchase your tickets soon as the corral is almost sold out. You don’t miss this chance to see some exciting racing on one of the premier road courses in the U.S. To purchase your tickets and car corral pass, please go to

https://sebringraceway.com/porsche-corral-packages

There are several options for tickets based on the number of persons attending and the number of days. Sebring has both one and two day options as well as one person or two person options.

If you have questions, please contact PCA Zone 12 Representative Dave Herndon at zone12rep@pca.org or PCA Porscheplatz Coordinator Tuffy von Briesen at porscheplatz@pca.org
