Registration for the Monterey Parade is just a week away!
PCA
Parade will be held Sunday, June 15, until Saturday, June 21, and registration opens April 1. A guide to all events is on the Parade website at parade2014.pca.org, and you should use that to help you plan your week. All registrations will be accepted but be aware some events fill quickly and then go to a “waitlist” status.

The Parade registration system pulls its information from your PCA account, so please ensure you have all your information up-to-date, and that you know your PCA website logon information (user name and password). We especially need a current email, as all Parade information is sent to that email.

We are fortunate to have blocks at five different hotels this year — you will be in good company no matter which one you choose!  Once you have completed your Parade registration and have received the confirmation email (within a few seconds) with both your entrant number and special hotel authorization codes, you will be ready to reserve your accommodations. Remember that lodging reservations are subject to availability — you will want to book as soon as possible after registering for Parade to ensure your preference.

What sounds good in your Porsche?
By Joseph Cavalcante
Beside the engine, what sounds good in your Porsche? Do you improvise the car forward with self-possession over chunky piano chords, clashing cymbals and a knowing horn? Have you ever deliberately gone too far just to finish John Coltrane's discourse on a few of his favorite things? I thought so. When one drives a car infrequently, only precisely the right music for that moment works. That little cherub statue in my New York backyard still stands in snow, so when I finally point the car toward a mechanic to address the "check engine" light I recently earned from idling an hour in zero degrees, I’ll blare something fun.

Financial Times
Porsche is set to completely manufacture a car outside Germany for the first time, marking a departure from its proud brand claim that all its vehicles are “Made in Germany”. Matthias Müller, Porsche chief executive, said that after 2016 the next generation of the Cayenne SUV — a vehicle that currently accounts for roughly half of Porsche sales — will be manufactured entirely in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Studiotorino shows new Cayman-based Moncenisio sports car
Autoblog
While the recent bankruptcy of Bertone shows that it has become very difficult to be a coachbuilder today, it seems there is still a business case in creating unique bodies for premium vehicles. Case in point, Studiotorino a small, Italian coachbuilder that has been creating limited-edition cars since 2005. Its latest creation is the Moncenisio, which debuted as a prototype at the National Automobile Museum of Turin on March 21.

$1.4 billion hedge fund suit against Porsche dismissed
Autoblog
Investors have canvassed courts in Europe and the U.S. to repeatedly sue Porsche over its failed attempt to take over Volkswagen in 2008, and they have repeatedly failed to win any cases. You can add another big loss to the tally, with Bloomberg reporting that the Stuttgart Regional Court has dismissed a 1.4-billion euro lawsuit, the decision explained by the court's assertion that the investors would have lost on their short bets even if Porsche hadn't misled them.
