Porsche 911 GT3 RSR starting the season off right
By David Hurth
The 991 variant of the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR has had quite a bit of success in the short time it has been racing. In the inaugural season of the Tudor United SportsCar Championship, the rear-engine sports car has two victories in two races. But the racing success didn't start there. Last year was the first big racing victory for the GT3 RSR, and it came on the largest endurance racing stage in the world. Of course, I'm referring to the 24 Hours of Le Mans where the 991 GT3 RSR managed to win its class at the famed 24-hour race.

Registration for the Monterey Parade starts today!
PCA
Parade will be held Sunday, June 15, until Saturday, June 21, and registration opens April 1. A guide to all events is on the Parade website at parade2014.pca.org, and you should use that to help you plan your week. All registrations will be accepted but be aware some events fill quickly and then go to a “waitlist” status.

The Parade registration system pulls its information from your PCA account, so please ensure you have all your information up-to-date, and that you know your PCA website logon information (user name and password). We especially need a current email, as all Parade information is sent to that email.

We are fortunate to have blocks at five different hotels this year — you will be in good company no matter which one you choose!  Once you have completed your Parade registration and have received the confirmation email (within a few seconds) with both your entrant number and special hotel authorization codes, you will be ready to reserve your accommodations. Remember that lodging reservations are subject to availability — you will want to book as soon as possible after registering for Parade to ensure your preference.

7 entry-level roadsters for your springtime consideration
Wall St. Cheat Sheet
It’s that time of year again — at least, it’s supposed to be that time of year, when there’s a warm breeze in the cool air, things are beginning to show signs of green, the birds are flitting about in preparation for summer ... except that it’s still frigid in places, and some parts of the country are still blanketed with an icy, muddy layer of snow, as winter appears to be overstaying its welcome. We can dream though, can’t we?

It may be hard to believe, but when the original Porsche 911 Turbo (930) was introduced, it was intended to be a GT cruiser. Even so the car had pure sports car characteristics and could be a handful for those not ready when the boost kicked in.

PCA National volunteer position available: RegionFocus Coordinator
PCA
We are looking for a volunteer to take RegionFocus to the next level. Rather than unilateral distribution of a lengthy newsletter, we are searching for a PCA Region Officer (past or present) who will send periodic articles to regional management and then promote discussion of relevant topics via a management forum on pca.org. That is, while the RegionFocus Coordinator will compile and distribute relevant articles, the RegionFocus Coordinator will need to be comfortable leading and moderating discussion in an online forum.
