View April 2015 Porsche Panorama digital edition
In the April 2015 issue, Editor Pete Stout gives us his impressions on the Cayman GT4 in "Bad Boy" after driving it on road and track in Portugal. Kieron Fenelly profiles the late Rolf Stommelen, one of Germany's best — and underrated — racing drivers in "Fahrer für alle Fälle." In "Air on Ice," Pete von Behrens takes a trip to Below Zero Ice Driving in Sweden and learns a thing or two about car control driving an air-cooled 911 in slippery conditions. Porsche's 356 Speedster was made famous thanks to its on-track prowess, but it wasn't the first lightweight racing Porsche based on a 356; read about the progenitor to Porsche's lightweight specials in Sean Cridland's "Prototyp: Sauter Porsche Roadster." John Lamm recently moved on from his 1950s Alfa Romeo to a 991-generation 911 Carrera, taking delivery in Alabama and driving it home to California, a trip detailed in "Porsche 911 Carrera: Mobile to San Clemente."
Of course, regular Panorama departments Tech Q&A, European Windows, From the Regions, Street Talk, Art & Canvas, Junior Driver, and zwART are all present and accounted for. Enjoy the issue!

Golden jubilee: 50 years with a Porsche 911
By Sydney Scrogham
The 911 was more than just a car for me while growing up. It was a racing streak by a checkered flag that could make a heart stop. It was a driving lesson on country back roads. And now, for 50 years, my grandfather Weldon Scrogham has cared for a 911 — it's a piece of family history. When I sat down to ask him about this particular car, I said, "Tell me how you came about buying this car." Weldon looked at me and said, "I think we need to go back farther than that." I settled in for a long story.

Check out Patrick Dempsey's stunning new Porsche 911 race car [w/video]
Many know Patrick Dempsey as Dr. Derek Shepherd (or "McDreamy"), star of "Grey’s Anatomy." But it’s safe to say Dempsey isn’t your average Hollywood celebrity. He’s a racing driver through and through, and "McDreamy" just so happens to be quite "McSpeedy."
Porsche gets first World Endurance Championship pole of 2015
With the increased competition in the World Endurance Championship's LMP1 class, everyone's wondering who's really the fastest this year. Porsche looked great at the Prologue, but Audi was fast during practice for the 6 Hours of Silverstone. It's Porsche, though, who'll take up the entire front row of the grid.
The number 17 Porsche 919 duo of Mark Webber and Brendon Hartley nabbed pole for the 6 Hours of Silverstone, with Porsche's number 18 sister car driven by Neel Jani and Romain Dumas qualifying right behind in second.

Piech, Winterkorn to discuss VW leadership crisis, report says
Volkswagen Chairman Ferdinand Piech and the automaker's CEO, Martin Winterkorn, will discuss the company's leadership crisis when they meet within the next few days, a German newspaper reported.
The two executives will discuss Piech's statement that he doesn't want Winterkorn to succeed him as VW chairman when they meet, Handelsblatt reported.
2015 Porsche 911 GTS Cabriolet review
Arguably the best corner on the private Ascari circuit is the first one. You’ve just straight-lined the tight, uphill right-left kink that ended the last lap and popped over the rise. Now it’s time to cut hard left. Stay off the apex curbing, give the 2015 Porsche 911 GTS Cabriolet its heading, and bury the gas. It’s particularly so in a car like the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet, which is why we’re here lapping at Ascari.
Video: Porsche 918 Spyder completes world-first stunt in Aussie Outback
Everybody knows about Germany’s speed-unlimited autobahns, but what many may not know is that there’s another stretch of road where drivers can push their cars to the limit without fear of losing their license: the Stuart Highway in Australia’s Northern Territory. To demonstrate the relatively unique abilities of its flagship 918 Spyder, Porsche recently took to the Stuart Highway and completed a world-first stunt.
Porsche Boxster Spyder GT4? Yes, please
The Porsche Boxster Spyder is stripped-down, lighter, manual-only and with a fancy fabric top. So what would happen if you made it more powerful and track-capable, like the Cayman GT4? That’s right: Boxster Spyder GT4, a thing Porsche is apparently considering. This news comes from the UK’s Autocar, which reports that the company is mulling a Boxster Spyder GT4 because demand for the Cayman GT4 has exceeded all expectations.
Porsche Macan raises the bar for compact SUVs [w/video]
Detroit Free Press
The 2015 Porsche Macan turbo high-performance SUV is good news for Porsche fans, but great news for other luxury brands.
That's because the Macan resets the bar for prices on compact luxury SUVs. Up. Way up.
While brands like Audi, BMW and Cadillac flirt with top prices just above $60,000, Porsche boldly sets sail for six digits with the Macan.

Even if you haven’t heard of Shark Werks before, you have likely seen them on Jay Leno’s Garage. They have been on the web series a few times, the most recent being about a Porsche 911 GT2 RS (997) project collaboration with Magnus Walker. Read more to see Alex’s answers to our questions.
