Where the car is king
The Wall Street Journal
Tim Wellborn's two-story garage in Alexander City, Ala., spans 14,400 square feet and can fit 12 cars upstairs and six below. The walls are made of New Orleans brick, and the concrete floors are stained to look like stone. For entertaining, there's a Cuban mahogany bar with granite countertops and an eight-seat theater.

A story of the 1st Porsche 356 toy
By Jeff Gasparitish
This story begins with a phone call to the front office at the 356CAR — Vice President Jim Reeder's place of business in Fremont, Calif. Never one to pass up a Porsche conversation in the middle of his work day, Reeder took a call from Jeff Gasparitsch, who was eager to tell the story about his father Victor Gasparitsch and his personal history with Ferdinand Porsche and what turned out to be the Gmünd Coupe. Reeder listened in amazement as the following incredible tale unfolded from Jeff Gasparitsch. Any idea what the first Porsche toy ever made was?

Brumos Racing is ready for a return to Road Atlanta
Brumos Racing
It has been a long time coming, but after an absence of more than a decade, Brumos is preparing to race again at Road Atlanta. The Braselton, Ga., track has seen the famous #59 Brumos Porsche in Victory Lane many times — from the Brumos era of domination in the 1970s, to Hurley Haywood's Bridgestone SuperCar championship days. Now the wait is over for the area's Brumos fans as the Atlanta track hosts the GRAND-AM Rolex Series for the first time.

Driving school to hold course in Salem, Va.
The Roanoke Times
To operate a motor vehicle in Virginia, young people must pass a state-approved driver's education course and drive 45 hours with an adult. Is that enough? A group of fast car enthusiasts says no. Roanoke-area car clubs have announced a skill-building course for new drivers ages 15 to 21 in Salem next month. They are bringing in Street Survival, a traveling driving school that offers a supplement to state-required training. It boasts 10,000 youth graduates over 11 years, according to its website.

50 years of the Porsche 911
MSN Autos
From its debut at the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show to the presentation of the 2014 GT3 at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, the Porsche 911 has earned its place as one of the best "driver's cars" ever produced. In an era when words such as "epic," "iconic" and "legendary" are as lazily tossed out as pickles on a Quarter Pounder, the 911 continues to demonstrate what a sports car is all about. Let's look at milestones in the 911's 50-year history and ponder how a single car model can evolve so relentlessly yet remain so connected to its roots.

eGarage showcases a significant Porsche 959
Road & Track
Conceived as an entrant in turbo-nutter Group B rally racing, Porsche's 959 was built just in time to watch the no-hold-barred class flame out in death and destruction. Instead, the über-911 would compete in a far more cutthroat arena: the hearts and minds of little boys. Over at eGarage, they've put together a brief featurette highlighting one of six pre-production 959s built specifically for the then-head of Porsche R&D, Professor Helmuth Bott.

What is better: Porsche 911 or Cayman?
The Sports Car Guys
The new 2014 Porsche Cayman, especially the S model, gets uncomfortably close to the base Porsche 911 (991) Carrera. It is rare that Porsche has allowed a model that is lower in the German sports car maker's lineup to get this close to the 911's performance.

10 ways the 2014 Porsche Cayman is better than the 911
It's the worst-kept secret in the automotive world: Porsche doesn't want its midengine Cayman to post better performance numbers than the vaunted rear-engine 911. Correction, Porsche won't let the Cayman drop-kick its bigger, more illustrious brother. Ever.

Porsche Club of America to visit Traverse City, Mich., for 2013 Porsche Parade - Registration is OPEN!
PCA's showcase event, our annual Parade, will return to Traverse City, Mich., for the first time since 1989. A hidden gem for many, TC - as it's known to locals - is one of America's best-kept secret resorts. Known for its laconic beauty, its high-duned coast along Lake Michigan, and as the tart cherry-capital of America, TC offers a great variety of touring destinations, scenic, well-surfaced roads, beautiful vistas and a sophisticated small-town atmosphere as a home to a vibrant art, literature, and film community. Parade's host, The Grand Traverse Resort and Spa, offers an amazing array of amenities, activities and facilities that will make this year's Parade one to remember. The Concours will be on-site, steps away from the hotel and Concours prep area. The two day autocross will be held at nearby Antrim County Airport. The Parade TSD and Gimmick Rallies will cruise through some incredibly beautiful scenery and visit several historically significant sites. And of course the Tech Quiz will have you wishing you'd read just one more book and checked your collections of manuals for the umpteenth time...

Let's not forget all the other great Parade activities for kids and adults that Parade has become known for over the years: the Art Show, the Hospitality Center, the driving and bus tours, the 5K Run/Walk, the RC car autocross and more, more, more! This year's Parade in Traverse City, Mich., is already gearing up to be another one to be talked-about for the ages. For more information, go to Registration for the 2013 Porsche Parade opens on Tuesday, March 12, 2013. All registrations entered by midnight Thursday, March 14 will receive equal and highest priority. There will be no paper registration.

Porsche's Audi-based Macan SUV due as 2014 model

Porsche is beginning the slow tease in advance of its launch of Macan, a compact SUV based on the Audi Q5. While there are plenty of spy photos and what-if renderings floating around the ether, the sketch here is the only official likeness from the German car company.

The Sports Car Guys
The Porsche 356A is a lightweight fun to drive car in its stock form. However, there are those that look at the classic lines of the 356 and think, "I bet we can take that great body shape and add some more modern parts to make quite a hot rod."

Why I love Porsche Parade
By Dan Shields
When our friends invited us to join them on a trip to Porsche Parade 15 years ago, it seemed kind of silly. A 4,000-mile round trip would take us to a ski resort in the middle of July for a weeklong celebration of everything Porsche. I remember thinking, "I hope this is worth it."
