3. Stemming the tide: Let's save the manual transmission

What is a manually-shifted car? After 30 years as an engineer in the automotive industry and 36 years of driving more cars than I have fingers, toes and hair follicles, I think my definition fits with others Porsche owners of like mind. And it's not only the definition of what they are, but I also share their concerns about the uncertain future of manually-shifted cars being offered by Porsche and other manufacturers. So, I offer a somewhat different — but eminently practical — method to help stem the tide of automatic shifting into our beloved automobiles.

5. Porsche does the right thing and offers to buy back or replace Nick Murray's 911 lemon

After a long internet battle, disgruntled Porsche 911 owner Nick Murray who experienced so many problems with his car that he labeled it a "lemon", got what he wanted: a positive response from Porsche North America (PCNA), which offered him the option to either buy back his 911 for the original value or replace it with a new one.
