PCA Club Racing Scrutineers spend the day at Porsche Motorsports North America
The PCA Club Racing Scrutineers spent Friday, May 4, at the Porsche Motorsports North America (PMNA) facility in Santa Ana, Calif. The day was part of a two day conference for the 20 Scrutineers in attendance for advanced training and updating of operational procedures used at our PCA Club Races. Hosted by Jens Walther, President of PMNA, and Eric Bloss, who works with Special Projects and IMSA, the group toured the PMNA facility, examined a new Cup Car on a lift with under-trays removed, looked through the transmission, engine building and dyno areas and examined specific parts of the cars that were not installed in race cars. The group met with representatives of Starrett Measurement and Inspection Systems, who are working with PMNA and PCA developing some special measuring devices for use on PCA Club Race cars. Other topics of discussions with the staff at the facility included some specific areas of concern for the Porsche Cup Cars and consideration of some different approaches to Scrutineering Porsche race cars. This type of event would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors and friends at Porsche Motorsports North America.
