New generation Porsche icon
The Associated Press via The Boston Globe    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
The new-generation, 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera has the familiar, sexy shape of its forebears. But it's tastefully redone with a wider front track, a body that's a bit longer and lighter, a holistically designed interior and modern touches like light-emitting diode tail lamps. Of course, there's more power, too - up to 400 horses and 325 foot-pounds of torque from the up-level, naturally aspirated six cylinder. More

2014 Porsche Macan spy shots
Motor Authority    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Just before the 2012 Geneva Auto Show, Porsche confirmed that its upcoming compact crossover SUV would be called "Macan." The name is from the Indonesian word for tiger, and judging by these spy shots, the name may be apt - even if a bit odd at first blush. More

Would the Porsche Cayman make a good race car?
The Porsche Guys    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
All Porsche sports cars were meant to be raced. The cars while quite good at the normal daily driving, really come alive on a track, especially when race prepped. While Porsche mainly races the Porsche 911 and at times special race variants, cars such as the Porsche 914, Porsche 944, Porsche Boxster and Porsche Cayman (just to name a few) have shown to be very good on the track. Porsche Cayman R is about...fiscal responsibility?
The Chronicle Herald    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Vehicular compromise. In the world of cars, that usually means things like GT badgework on mini-vans. Some purists may argue that the Porsche vehicular compromise is the Cayenne, simply because of the fact it's a Porsche, and also an SUV. Or is it the Panamera, the tryst child of Cayenne powertrains, 911 flanks, and a smidge of shooting brake? Nope. It’s the Porsche Cayman R, the Grand Cayman in the sense of Spyder. The current Boxster Spyder was the first of the mid-engined Porsches' to punch up the performance factor, as well as the strip-please quotient. More
