We know there's nothing like a Porsche. Nothing can replicate the feeling of driving one, and no other combination of sound, feel, sight and soul connects with us in quite the same way. It's also a very personal connection. Porsche connects to people in different ways, and we'd like to capture those ways.

Help us define what makes this brand and these cars so special. We invite you to submit your stories, images or videos for a chance to be showcased on our website: Porsche. There is no substitute.

Porsche 911 Turbo S could be the fastest taxi in the world
    Autoevolution
We've just stumbled across the StreetGasm 2000 Challenge, another road rally with pedigree founded back in 2010. This year's edition focuses on touring the Mediterranean and boasts 2,000 miles of driving across seven countries using 90 supercars. With four days left to go before it ends, we've spotted something really interesting. A brand new Porsche 911 Turbo S has been livered to look like a taxi. That's right, a 560 horsepower, all-wheel drive supercar livered like a cab. What a mind-melting idea!

    Porsche 918 may lead to plug-in 911
    CNNMoney via KTVZ-TV
There was a time, not that long ago, when Porsche executives scoffed at the idea of a hybrid Porsche sports car. Buyers laying down serious money for a 911 or Cayman, they thought, expected a sort of performance that hybrids just couldn't offer. Porsche, part of the Volkswagen Group, now also has the 918 Spyder, a plug-in hybrid with performance that is, unquestionably, in true Porsche sports car character. In fact, it's even faster than the Porsche 911 Turbo S, the top-of-the-line 911.

Porsche 911 Aerodynamic prototype cheated the wind ahead of its time
    Autoblog
You might think that sports cars would have the lowest drag coefficient of all cars. And yes, they do tend to be more slippery than, say, SUVs or convertibles, but the sleekest vehicles on the road tend to be EVs, hybrids and luxury sedans. Sports cars, on the other hand, have aerodynamically detrimental needs for downforce and additional engine cooling. Still, the Porsche 911 is better than most, and has only gotten more so over the years. Its relatively narrow track and compact form mean it has a smaller frontal area than some other sports cars, and the gradual sweeping back of its headlights and windshield have only augmented its capacity for cheating the wind.

Porsche videos detail more secret prototypes, including early Boxster Mule in 911 body
    Car and Driver
Porsche continues to save us all the cost of airfare to Germany by putting more of the gems squirreled away in its museum on YouTube. Following up an earlier video highlighting its V-8–powered 911 prototype, Porsche's latest two new clips also detail clever test cars. One is an aerodynamic 911 study, while the other is an early Boxster mule wearing a 911 body.

This is the very first Porsche widowmaker
    Jalopnik
Early Porsche 911s became notorious for their wayward handling characteristics with all of their weight hanging in the back — add a primitive turbocharger to the equation and you get this — the "widowmaker." The problem with these early 911 Turbos was turbo-lag, where all of the power would come suddenly after a bit of a delay. This sudden boost created a tendency for these cars to swap-ends in the corners, giving them their deadly reputation. Manage the boost though, and you had one of the fastest cars in the world at the time.

How Porsche made the Targa's Iconic pop-top even better
    Wired
Convertibles were once denounced as death traps because of their potential hazard in rollovers. In the 1960s, U.S. legislators even considered outlawing them. Hoping to stay ahead of such a ban, Porsche designed a safer pop-top, replacing the roof of the 911 coupe with a removable section between the windshield and a roll bar. The company called its new model the Targa, after Italy's Targa Florio sports-car race. Some 50 years later, Porsche has updated the iconic design with a smarter roof — a sophisticated push-button system that keeps owners' manicures intact.

Details emerge on 2015 Porsche Cayenne
    Left Lane
Porsche is preparing to give its Cayenne SUV a mid-cycle update, and a new report gives us a better idea of what to expect from it. The bulk of the 2015 Cayenne's changes will be found under the hood, where the SUV will get smaller engines in order to comply with the strict fuel emissions norms that will come into effect across Europe and the United States in the near future. Rumors indicate the mid-level Cayenne S will ditch it 4.8-liter V8 engine in favor of a downsized 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine rated at 420 horsepower and 384 lb-ft. of torque. Linked to an eight-speed tiptronic transmission, the turbo six will send the Cayenne S from zero to 60 mph in less than 5.6 seconds and on to a top speed of at least 160 mph.

Can Porsche's Macan deliver on expectations?
    Torque News
Porsche recently released its year to date sales numbers. So far they are up 6 percent compared to the same point in 2013, with roughly 71,500 vehicles delivered on the year. Driving this is continued growth of the Panamara, with 11,000 units delivered worldwide. However, as more manufacturers are turning their attention to the sport compact SUV market; Audi with the RS Q3, and Mercedez-Benz with the GLA45, I find that the numbers that are most interesting are that of Porsche's new Macan.
