Porsche in overtaking lane on data highway
Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, is embarking on tomorrow's Internet. The sports car manufacturer is using Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) with immediate effect, thereby laying the foundation for pioneering net access for customers and visitors alike. In addition to accessing already existing Web services, in the long-term the introduction of IPv6 ensures new applications and service offerings as well. In this context, we could imagine allocating each vehicle and all safety-related components their own IP addresses, making them uniquely addressable for remote diagnoses. More

The magazine said tax authorities had concluded the deal was legally a restructuring and not a disposal that would involve tax payments. More

Porsche SUVs put off die-hard sports car fans
Manfred Wilke loves nothing more than speeding down the German Autobahn in his 911 coupe. Gazing at a 911 Carrera GTS with a 100,000 euro ($125,000) price tag in Porsche's flagship showroom in Berlin, the real estate manager said only cars like the sporting two-seater deserved to carry the Porsche badge. He is one of a number of Porsche purists who are appalled at the Stuttgart-based sports car maker's aggressive push into sport utility vehicles and family-style saloons. More

Brumos' solid performance at Mid-Ohio yields little reward
Brumos Racing Share
Following recent race weekends that featured heavy rain, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course delivered a refreshing change, as the EMCO Gears Classic saw sunshine and warm temperatures. Brumos Racing was in fine form as well, the team having put in long hours on the road to deliver a sound car for Andrew Davis and Leh Keen. Davis definitely found it to his liking, qualifying the Brumos #59 Porsche 911 GT3 in 2nd place. Davis maintained his position during the opening stint of the race and the car was handed off to Leh Keen under yellow. The car developed a front end vibration early in Keen's stint, making it difficult to handle. Although a 2nd set of tires late in the race improved things dramatically, Keen was not able to make headway in the time remaining against the highly competitive field, and Brumos settled for a 7th place finish. Spied! 2014 Porsche 911 Targa loses sunroof, gets removable roof
Motor Trend Share
The Porsche 911 Targa always provided a great way for Porsche buyers to enjoy the open air motoring experience of a convertible without losing the iconic 911 profile. These targa-topped Porsches once featured removable roof panels that allowed owners to enjoy the great outdoors, instead of using what some might describe as an oversized sunroof. The 2014 Porsche 911 Targa we snapped here appears to ditch the sunroof and return to Porsche's traditional targa roots. More
