Last week's survey: Do you take your Porsche to the racetrack?
SEE RESULTS

Look for the June issue of Panorama
PCA
Keep an eye on the mailbox for the June 2013 issue! Inside, you'll find Pete Stout's report on the exotic 918 Spyder. Panorama was one of a tiny number of media outlets worldwide invited to drive Porsche's latest prototype, and putting its 887 horsepower down on a rain-soaked German test track proved not only exciting but enlightening. Stout explores the hybrid supercar's raft of new technology — including electric all-wheel drive and the same rear-wheel steering system you'll find in the new GT3 — all while pondering a critical question: How does Porsche's $845,000 918 compare to its previous supercars?

Of course, there's much more to the June issue than the latest and greatest from Porsche. Member Bill Patton reveals "the other Bruce" in a charming and touching account of the late Bruce Anderson's non-car side. Author John Glynn drives a 1960 356 Roadster to legendary Porsche importer Max Hoffman's Long Island home, a masterpiece designed by legendary American architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Senior Editor Joe Rusz visits Zone 8's California Festival of Speed, an L.A. Porsche party like no other. New contributor Mark Morrissey checks out a fabulous resto-mod 912 recently completed by a farmer (and PCA member) who loved his 993 but longed for the experience of Porsche's earlier cars.

Bringing things full circle, noted Porsche historian Randy Leffingwell tells us things we didn't know about the 993 — including why it got a rear subframe with its "LSA" (Light Stable Agile) rear suspension: The final air-cooled 911 was to have active rear-wheel steering. Find out why that didn't happen — and much more — in the newest issue of Panorama!

#TheFuture comes to Le Mans: Don Panoz's love affair with sports cars: It started with 'the bug'
GRAND-AM Road Racing
Don Panoz wasn't always the internationally known, sports car executive type. In fact, for most of his long and accomplished life, the 78-year-old Panoz says he was a casual race fan, at best. Then, in the spring of 1997, something changed quickly, noticeably. Panoz, successful pharmaceutical entrepreneur, knew an illness when he saw one.

3 cars that were ahead of their time
Boldride via Yahoo Autos
Bill Wilson writes, "I was too young to watch the original Star Trek series when it first came out, but I’ve seen every episode dozens of times via reruns. One thing that amazes me is how far ahead of its time the show was. It shows characters sitting at video monitors, loading data onto floppy disks, and talking to computers with voice recognition software. In the 1960s, those kinds of devices were on the leading-edge of scientific speculation. Nowadays they’re so common we hardly pay them any attention."
