Porsche is getting serious about the Cayman and Boxster
By David Hurth
When the Porsche Boxster first went on sale, it took the place of the 968 as the company's entry-level sports car. The 986 Boxster was a huge financial success and the mid-engine sports car has grown quite a following. Over the years, various changes and improvements have been made, and the layout was later adapted for the hardtop Cayman. Recently, Porsche has unveiled the Cayman GTS and the Boxster GTS, which shows they are getting serious about their non-911 sports cars.

Packing a punch: 20 most powerful Porsche vehicles
Wall St. Cheat Sheet
Porsche has made a name for itself by developing fast and powerful sports cars, and has been at it for many decades. The company dates back to 1931, where it was founded by Ferdinand Porsche in Stuttgart, Germany. From meager beginnings, the company has built itself into one of the world’s most trusted and well-respected automakers, constantly pushing the envelope in terms of design, speed, and power. Its engineering group alone has worked in a consulting role to other carmakers as diverse as Audi and Subaru. As of last year, Volkswagen holds the dominant investment in the company, along with its other brands like Bugatti, Lamborghini and Bentley.

Porsche Cayman S vs. Caterham 7 drag race
The Sports Car Guys
Power-to-weight ratio is what will win a race, correct? If that is true, then it would seem that the lightweight Caterham 7 should dust the Porsche Cayman S in a drag race. After all the 7 weighs so little that even though the engine puts out a fraction of the horsepower that the Cayman does, it should be much quicker. Having said this the Caterham is not exactly the most aerodynamic shape and the technology is very old school. The Porsche, on the other hand, uses its mid-engine layout and technology to its advantage.
