Staying on track and surviving Mosport
By Joe Lapin
Last month, I had a glorious Driver Education session at Canadian Tire Mosport Park near Toronto with the PCA's Upper Canada Region group. I had recently made several modifications to my car and having enjoyed these dramatic improvements on the road, I wanted to test the changes on a racetrack. I arrived greatly intimidated and, honestly, quite fearful of the unknown. I had been warned about the dreaded Turn 2 and the notorious strips of concrete that were diabolically placed to direct misplaced cars onto grassy launching pads, catapulting the unfortunate into various walls and other hard surfaces.

Yahoo Autos
A group of scientists based in Britain and the Netherlands has cracked the algorithms used in keys to start Porsches, Audis, Bentleys and Lamborghinis. The scientists had planned on revealing their findings in an academic paper, but a British high court banned them from doing so for now, citing the danger of gifting such information to car hackers and thieves.

Porsche 912 — When Porsche made affordable sports cars
Motorward
There's probably no car enthusiast out there who has never dreamt of owning, or at least driving, a Porsche. Video: Direction — Future. Porsche E-Mobility.
Porsche via YouTube
We build sports cars. Always have done. The impulse to move forward, to be faster, to come first is therefore established deep in our genes — not only when it comes to crossing the finishing line, but also, especially, with new ideas. So it is normal for us to go in new directions.

This consistent future-oriented direction is further supported by the Panamera S E-Hybrid — as a plug-in hybrid in the sports saloon sector. Rechargeable via the socket, it bundles today our entire expertise and will start in the E-Mobility future of Porsche.

5 premium brands making a killing in the US car market
Wall St. Cheat Sheet
A recently published report by J.D. Power McGraw Hill Financial titled, "J.D. Power 2013 Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout Study," illuminates new patterns in a constantly evolving automotive market. This time around, the report's results share good news for premium brands, because the study's key findings demonstrate that consumers are now becoming increasingly more willing to spend more money on models they find attractive and appealing, even if it means a sacrifice of more cash.

7 things you don't know about the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray
Edmunds.com via Yahoo Autos
It is amid America's worst urban decay, outside the rapidly deteriorating Packard plant on the east side of Detroit, that the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7's details become clear. It's here, juxtaposed against the effects of time, failure and neglect that the Stingray — possibly the greatest sign of hope the city has seen in years — begins to truly shine.

Video: Barn Find — Classic Porsche 912 Restoration
Drive Clean via YouTube
Today's story is about a true barn find. The car in question is a 1966 Porsche 912, which was last registered 23 years ago. Drive Clean discovered the car thanks to our friend Roger Garbow, from Full Throttle Marketing. He had received a call about the car's discovery and immediately forwarded the info to Drive Clean. Address in hand, they turned their crews around and headed-off to a northern region of Connecticut where we unearthed and restored this classic car. Watch as they assess their find, remove years of accumulated filth and grime, and initiate the paint correction phase on this 912's "Irish Green" shell.

The most appealing new vehicles to American carbuyers are...
Yahoo Autos
For many years, the most-watched measures of how well a vehicle was built involved tracking all the things that could go wrong once that hunk of metal was in your driveway. Yet no one really buys a particular car or truck based on nothing but a quality number; the majority of tire-kickers invest more emotion in their vehicle purchase than they do when buying, say, a new toaster. That's why J.D. Power annually surveys 83,000 new owners about what's gone right with their vehicles — and this year's results show that bigger often equals better.
