1. Why air-cooled 911s continue to skyrocket, and the best Porsches to snatch while they're still cheap
Yahoo Autos
Porsche's now-iconic 911 will be one of the star models at a variety of auctions unfolding during Pebble Beach’s annual Concours d’Elegance week, Aug. 13-17. A glance at Mecum's catalog alone reveals glossy photos of candy-colored gems from the early '70s, including two Carrera RS Tourings and a few late '70s 935 IMSA standouts. Expect the bidding to be fierce and healthy six-figures high, reflecting this air-cooled car's growing status as a must-have collectible.

The green flag waved at the Pikes Peak International Hillclimb June 29 at 8 AM MDT, when the first in a long list of car and motorcycle racers started his 12.42-mile timed run up “The Hill.”

Among the competitors were a handful of Porsche drivers, including seven-time Pikes Peak champion Jeff Zwart and Romain Dumas, who is fresh off of his run in a Porsche 919 Hybrid at the 24 Hours of Le Mans (though Dumas is driving a Norma Prototype at Pikes Peak).

4. Porsche Cayman GTS in track battle with 996 GT3
Autoblog
Here's your tough question of the day: Would you rather drive a new Porsche Cayman GTS or a slightly older, 996-era Porsche 911 GT3? Certainly, both cars have their plusses. The Cayman is the more modern proposition, sure, but the GT3 is, well, a GT3. So yes, it's a tough decision. If you're one of the lucky souls that have to make that choice, then this video from Evo should prove pretty helpful.
