Baltimore Grand Prix: American Le Mans - September 2-3, 2011
The American Le Mans Series returns to the Atlantic seaboard with the first running of the Baltimore Grand Prix. The circuit in downtown Baltimore will run along the city's Inner Harbor, making the venue one of the most picturesque in ALMS history.
This week, our light shines on two intensely modified 911 models, a factory ST inspired 1971 911T owned by Robert Abbott and a wild and uber hp 1996 911 C4S owned by Anthony Branzuela. These two cars might get you to reconsider keeping your Porsche stock! Videos here.
Brumos Racing set for a showdown at Montreal's Circuit Gilles Villeneuve
Brumos Racing Share
In what has been one of the most competitive GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series seasons in memory, the GT championship race is still far from decided, and with only two more races remaining, Brumos is ready for a fight to the finish. Following last weekend's race at Watkins Glen, the Brumos team immediately went to work, getting the #59 Brumos Porsche 911 GT3 prepped for its trip north of the border to Montreal's Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Now, going into Round 11, Brumos is in 2nd place in the standings and only seven points out of first, so a strong finish at Montreal is mandatory to keep the historic #59 Brumos Porsche in the running for the lead. Some Porsche purists like it hot, and they're sweating to prove it
The New York Times Share
Lawrence Ulrich writes, "I can't remember the last car I drove without air-conditioning - let alone a sweltering $85,000 Porsche. But while an August heat wave in New York brought new meaning to the term “triple-digit car testing,” the Cayman R was worth every drop of perspiration expelled in its parboiled cabin." More
