1. Action-packed Fall Racing season is now in full swing
PCA
The rain held off and comfortable temperatures and cool breezes kept things comfortable at NJMP. Good hard-fought clean racing was a model of the weekend with the tone being set Aug. 30 when an inverted split field lead to an exciting, incident-free, first lap. Excellent driving and awareness lead to a tightly contested SPB class fighting through the split field.

3. The upside of a downside: Collecting vintage Porsches
By Pablo Deferrari
Recently, I shared one of my favorite videos with some fellow Porsche owners. The video, called "The Great Putdown," is a short four-and-a-half-minute film shot in 8 mm by actor Peter Helm about he and two other guys having a laugh ripping up and down Mulholland Drive in the Santa Monica Mountains of Southern California in their vintage Ferraris during the late '60s. This begged a few readers to ask if I was getting into Ferraris. I'm not sure if many understood the relevance of that video, and some may have asked themselves aloud, what did this have to do with Porsches? Everything.

4. Porsche 913 concept previews the Ferrari-fighter we've been waiting for
BoldRide via Yahoo Autos
Now that the 918 is all said and done, Porsche has its sights set directly on McLaren and Ferrari. If you think about it, between the 911 and 918, there's really nothing that competes directly with the 458 and McLaren 650S. At least, not yet. Word on the street is Porsche is working on that very vehicle. Unfortunately, we have no idea when said Ferrari-fighter will be here or what it will look like. But thanks to the power of Photoshop — and graphic designer Rene Garcia — this edgy Porsche 913 concept might be as close to the real thing as it gets.

5. Porsche 911 (996) buyers guide — Current market value
The Sports Car Guys
When the Porsche 911 (996) made its debut it was a major change for the rear-engine sports car. It was the first 911 generation that was water cooled. This along with the shape of the headlights did not find favor with many 911 purists. Incidentally, those headlights are also how you can easily tell a 996.1 and 996.2 apart as the 996.1 has headlights with an egg look.
