It will take place four years after the fourth installment of the world-renowned Porsche festival. 1,000 'Likes' for PCA 912+912E Register Facebook Page
By Rick Becker, PCA 912+912E Register Advocate
Thanks to all who have selected the 912+912E Register to be the first PCA Facebook page after PCA National to reach the 1,000 'Like' mark. This is especially gratifying considering total 912 and 912E production constitutes only about two percent of the total Porsches built since 1948! Porsche enthusiasts and PCA regions throughout North America are sharing images of 912s, from early restoration to shows, touring, and competition events. PCA regional, zone and national events are great opportunities for 912 owners to meet up and talk shop, plus reintroduce this classic Porsche model to a new generation of enthusiasts. On Facebook we add retrospectives, event reminders, videos, tech tips, racing news, and more to the mix. Past, present, and future owners, let's keep the level of communication growing, and interact using these links:

This unique 968 shows true dichotomy in a Porsche
By Jeff Coe
When looking at the modern-day car, it is amazing how we can change the personality of our vehicle with just the push of a button. But it wasn't that long ago that the new car buyer didn't have these great "personality adjusting" options to choose from. Buyers had to make hard choices about which vehicle personality they wanted, and typically they could only choose one. However, some buyers refused to conform. An example of that thinking was created in the run of Porsche 968s when 1995 coupe SS820272 rolled off the assembly line.

The mid-engine Porsche backstory
As an automaker's identity evolves over years, its signature becomes defined by any number of factors — heritage, image, or market share. In the case of Porsche, it was an engineering quirk that forged the German company's most enduring character trait. Porsche would not have survived — let alone, thrived — in today's saturated landscape had it not been for the 911, and that slope-tailed sports car wouldn't have sprung to life without its predecessor, the 356. While phenomenal success of those rear-engine icons built the company, forays into the mid-engine configuration have played a significant part in establishing the brand's identity.
Bishop-France Award Honors Champions, Celebrates Proud Past

Next-gen Porsche 911 could go hybrid
Porsche seems determined to have hybrid power in just about every model, and CEO Matthias Muller seems to be fully in support of the idea. He told Australian outlet Car Advice that it could come to fruition for the 2018 911, which is expected to be fully redesigned.

An awesome day spent driving a Porsche 911 GT3

China may surpass US as Porsche's largest market this year thanks to Cayenne
China has already surpassed the United States as the world's largest automotive market, so it's no surprise that one day soon it will be the world's largest Porsche market. In fact, that day may already be here, as the PRC's Porschephiles outbought their American counterparts in September. Porsche's Chinese dealers sold 4,344 cars last month to America's 3,607. Through all of 2014 so far, though, the U.S. is still the larger market for the German brand.
The decline of manual transmissions in two graphs — and proof they're coming back
That manual transmissions in vehicles survive in now-permanent status of endangered species-dom will come as no surprise. Despite all the driving benefits and sense of control a manual brings, even most sports cars now sell more automatics than sticks when they offer their drivers the option. Recently, in its annual report on U.S. vehicle fuel efficiency, the Environmental Protection Agency provided a clear snapshot of just how endangered manuals are in two vivid graphs — along with a surprising sliver of hope for those who prefer three pedals to two.
McLaren P1 vs. Porsche 918 vs. Ducati 1199 Superleggera in epic standing-mile drag race
We live in a high-tech supercar renaissance, with the Porsche 918 Spyder, McLaren P1 and Ferrari LaFerrari all duking it out for performance supremacy. All three members of this power trio place the engine behind the driver and use some kind of hybrid assist. However, each one finds a slightly different way to make that setup work. While all of the tech is insanely cool, let's just admit that we are all really wondering which one is the quickest and which is the fastest.
Rare Dutch Porsche 356 police car comes up for auction
At the beginning of the 1960s, many Dutch motorways had no speed limit and no guardrails. Predictably, then, the accidents that did happen were often fatal. To combat the problem, the Rijkspolitie contacted their neighbors in Germany to see how they handled things on the Autobahn. The German police had adopted a system in 1956 of using Porsche patrol cars to follow and stop drivers traveling at a dangerous speed. It was a simple solution that worked. The Dutch decided to give it a go.
Porsche eyes entry-level GT racer
Porsche has ambitions to build an entry-level GT racer that could result in a GT4 contender based on its Cayman model. Outgoing Porsche Motorsport boss Hartmut Kristen has revealed that the German manufacturer has tested a racing version of its Cayman coupe.

The upside of a downside: Collecting vintage Porsches
By Pablo Deferrari
Recently, I shared one of my favorite videos with some fellow Porsche owners. The video, called "The Great Putdown," is a short four-and-a-half-minute film shot in 8 mm by actor Peter Helm about he and two other guys having a laugh ripping up and down Mulholland Drive in the Santa Monica Mountains of Southern California in their vintage Ferraris during the late '60s.
PDK dual clutch transmission vs. manual transmission
The Sports Car Guys
The PDK transmission is quite possibly the best dual clutch semi-automatic transmission available. But, is it really any better than a traditional manual transmission? From a speed of shifting standpoint, the PDK can change gears faster than any human is capable of.

"This may be cliché, but the Porsche 550 Spyder is my all-time favorite model. Although it would probably be nearly impossible to acquire one, the old fashioned, yet modernized sleek style makes this racing legend my dream Porsche."
Porsche of the Week
This picture was taken next to a business on the main road through a small village in North Central Washington State called Manson. The building is not a real firehouse; but is like others on this road that have been converted from a garage/filling station (or other) to a wine-related business. The local area has been transformed over the last decade from apple orchards to vineyards and apple orchards, in fact was granted their own appellation: Lake Chelan AVA.
