PCA celebrates 60th anniversary with limited-edition Chopard chronograph
PCA
Porsche Club of America has grown to great heights since its humble origins in 1955, and so it has joined with Chopard to celebrate its 60th anniversary next year with a run of 66 limited-edition PCA Mille Miglia watches for club members.

Sixty of the 42-millimeter automatic chronographs are made in stainless steel, and six in 18-karat rose gold. The limited PCA watch is identified as such by its blue face with white and red accents, the blue "tire tread" straps, and, of course, the club logo printed on the sapphire crystal back in full color alongside the edition number.

Porsche purpose: The sheer fun of driving
By Sydney Scrogham
There's one word that should excite every Porsche driver — autocross. For those who may not know what I mean, allow me to explain. An autocross is a race, but it doesn't meet the usual concept of "race." Only one car goes around at a time, and drivers race the clock. There are different classes for different cars, and the fastest one with the fewest faults is the winner. If you've never autocrossed, I'm sure you're wondering by now what the big point is. I'll let you in on the big secret, the main reason to autocross: It's fun.

The 4-cylinder turbo Porsche Cayman cometh
Road & Track
A few months ago, Porsche unleashed a very strange beast at the Nurburgring. It was a current-gen 911 with what was almost certainly a turbocharged flat-4. It's an engine we long suspected was coming from a company facing ever-stricter emissions and fuel economy standards, but Wolfgang Hatz — the Volkswagen Group's engine and transmission boss — confirmed it wouldn't be offered in the 911. The mid-engined Boxster and Cayman twins were the most likely to get the motor; Hatz didn't like the idea of a boxer-4 in the 991 chassis. Fast forward to early August, and we got our first idea of what a 981 Boxster powered by a flat four might sound like.

The steering wheel of the Porsche 919 Hybrid — a multifunctional

Porsche
Setting the direction is the most trivial task of the steering wheel in the Porsche 919 Hybrid. The drivers of the Class 1 Le Mans prototypes in the FIA World Endurance Championship have a computer in their hands. They operate 24 buttons and switches on the front along with paddles on the back to control the most complex racing car built by Porsche to date.

All Porsche 911s to get turbos in 2015?
Autoblog Canada
Currently, Porsche builds two turbocharged 911s — the Turbo and the Turbo S, and their cabriolet counterparts). The rest of the 911 range, meanwhile, is motivated by either 3.4- or 3.8-litre flat-sixes of varying outputs. This clear separation could be set to change in the very near future, though, as rumors continue to swirl that Porsche's rear-engined range could switch exclusively to turbocharged power.

Wanna buy a Porsche 918 Spyder? Better hurry
Bold Ride via Yahoo Autos
The Porsche 918 Spyder is one of the rarest cars on the market, and it’s about to get even rarer. According to one Porsche executive, the exclusive supercar is almost already sold out. Andre Oosthuizen, vice president of marketing for Porsche Cars North America, was quoted in Automotive News as saying that a small number of the 918 Spyders marked for sale were still available. He didn’t say how many have been sold, but planned production is already full through March or April of next year, with production expected to end in July 2015.

Porsche slathers Martini livery on 911, Panamera, Macan and Cayenne
Autoblog Canada
This is how we imagine the conversation went in Porsche's Stuttgart headquarters: "Martini livery. Martini livery all the things." Okay, so maybe not, but that hasn't stopped Porsche from showing off images of its entire lineup bearing the iconic racing livery. While Autoblog Canada sure about the questionably yellow 911 and lime green Macan, the navy blue Cayenne and the white Panamera both look pretty spectacular as they lap about the streets of Sochi, Russia.

Thrashing the Porsche Macan, the rolling contradiction of sports car/SUV
Yahoo Autos
Thanks to the Porsche Cayenne, we're all long past the point of griping about Porsche’s fealty to its core principles: Porsche makes things that are not the 911, and that’s OK. Yes, there are still people who won’t buy a Porsche that isn’t air-cooled, but in general the company’s forays into four-doors have been well received. Porsche’s latest sporting non-sports car is the Macan, a small crossover. And building a small crossover worthy of a Porsche badge might be the company’s biggest challenge yet.

The upside of a downside: Collecting vintage Porsches

Recently, I shared one of my favorite videos with some fellow Porsche owners. The video, called "The Great Putdown," is a short four-and-a-half-minute film shot in 8 mm by actor Peter Helm about he and two other guys having a laugh ripping up and down Mulholland Drive in the Santa Monica Mountains of Southern California in their vintage Ferraris during the late '60s.

The decline of manual transmissions in two graphs — and proof they're coming back
Yahoo Autos
That manual transmissions in vehicles survive in now-permanent status of endangered species-dom will come as no surprise. Despite all the driving benefits and sense of control a manual brings, even most sports cars now sell more automatics than sticks when they offer their drivers the option.
