Experiences of a 968 owner
By Ford Kanzler
I've owned several sports cars. After driving an Explorer and Honda Civic for several years, I was more than ready for a switch back to something a lot more enjoyable. One of my former drives was a Toyota MR2, and its agile mid-engine handling was memorable. With that in mind, a Boxster seemed like a good candidate. But when I tried sitting in one, the fit didn't work for my 6-foot-1 frame. No other brands did either. Then, one day the consignment lot near my home had an unusual Porsche model.

Porsche sells out of $310,000 Panamera Exclusive in 48 hours
Bold Ride via Yahoo Autos
Not long ago, Porsche debuted its limited-run Panamera Exclusive Series at the LA Auto show — 100 specially minted cars that offer the best of what Porsche can cram into a luxury five-door. But at an astounding $310,000 a pop, they don’t exactly come cheap.Regardless, the entire lot recently went up for sale. In the span of 48 hours all the limited edition cars were accounted for, reportedly a shock even to Porsche’s top dogs. And now a new report from Autocar suggests that Porsche will give it another try … perhaps with different models.

Brumos Porsche Transports a Legend in New Film Release
Brumos Porsche
More than just a late 1960’s converted Mercedes-Benz bus, this Porsche factory transporter, fondly nicknamed Buster, carried everything from 910 to 956 in its cargo hold. Mere racing cars that emerged from Stuttgart were transported to venues like Spa, LeMans and Nurburgring where they would meet their destiny, making them legend. In the latest short film from Brumos Porsche TV and director Frazer Spowart of eGarage, you will hear from four-time LeMans 24 Hours Champion and Brumos Vice President Hurley Haywood along with Brumos Collection Director Donald Leatherwood on how Buster took the fight to the competition for over twenty years — a story that until now, has never been told.

Here's why the 996 Turbo is the best Porsche 911 you can buy
Jalopnik
"Plays With Cars" author Doug DeMuro writes, "Whenever people find out that I worked for Porsche, they always ask the same thing. They look at me for a second, then they think. Then they look at me again, and they think some more. And then they say: ‘Are you the ***hole who designed the Panamera?’ Ha ha! I'm just kidding. What people really want to hear about, when they discover that I worked for Porsche, is all the cool stuff I got to do. Testing new models. Driving press vehicles. Flinging sports cars around the racetrack."

Russians snap up Porsches as falling ruble erodes savings
Bloomberg via Yahoo Finance
Russians are snapping up Porsche sports cars and Lexus sport-utility vehicles to protect against the falling ruble from eroding their savings. With steeper price increases looming next year, sales of Porsche vehicles, such as the Cayenne crossover, jumped 55 percent last month and Lexus demand surged 63 percent. Local Lexus dealers added extra staff to handle customer traffic that surged by a third, according to the Toyota Motor Corp. brand.

Few names in the automotive world are as synonymous with performance as Porsche. And chances are you know the company has won more races around the world than any other. Bold Ride via Yahoo Autos
This match-up pits the U.S. against the Germans with two cars that are perfect for track day driving. It all starts with a Camaro Z/28 with a manual transmission, so naturally its opponent had to be similarly equipped. That meant bringing the Porsche 997 GT3 RS to the challenge for a very wet series of laps.
