Car and Driver Magazine ranks Porsche Boxster and Cayman among the 10 best cars for 2012

The 2012 Porsche Boxster and Cayman are once again listed on Car and Driver Magazine's 10Best cars sold in America. This year marks the 11th time in 13 years that either a Porsche Boxster or Cayman model has been named to this coveted list. "As in years past, the cars on this year's list represent the best overall vehicles on the market today," said Eddie Alterman, editor-in-chief, Car and Driver. "Out of 68 contenders, these are the ones that consistently perform the best, are a good value and are engaging, fun-to-drive vehicles." More

With an estimated countrywide sales figure of 50,000 units per year by 2018, Porsche has recently been paying a lot of attention to the U.S. market. At the same time, global sales of Porsche cars are expected to hit the 200,000 units by the same year. While the plan does sound ambitious enough, Porsche is careful not to let the target go astray. Porsche 911 the least defective vehicle of the century

The German Technical Inspection Agency, TÜV, says the Porsche 911 is the most trouble-free vehicle of this century. Calculated from data collected from approximately eight million technical inspections between June 2010 and June 2011, the agency found that the Porsche 911 has been the car with the fewest reported defects of vehicles built since 2000. This is regardless of the kilometers traveled by the vehicles. More

An especially rare piece of automotive history is to be seen from Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011 in the Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, Museum: the Austro Daimler "Bergmeister" Sport Cabriolet dating from 1932. The "Bergmeister" is considered by automotive historians to be one of the pinnacles of Austrian automotive history. Featuring a body from the Armbruster K&K Hofwagenfabrik, the Sport Cabriolet exhibited in the Porsche Museum is considered to be one of the most beautiful cars of its era. But technically as well the "Bergmeister," driven by a 120 hp six-cylinder engine with overhead camshaft, is very interesting.
