PCA celebrates 60th anniversary with limited-edition Chopard chronograph
PCA
From Oct. 21: Porsche Club of America has grown to great heights since its humble origins in 1955, and so it has joined with Chopard to celebrate its 60th anniversary next year with a run of 66 limited-edition PCA Mille Miglia watches for club members.

Sixty of the 42-millimeter automatic chronographs are made in stainless steel, and six in 18-karat rose gold. The limited PCA watch is identified as such by its blue face with white and red accents, the blue "tire tread" straps, and, of course, the club logo printed on the sapphire crystal back in full color alongside the edition number.

1st Porsche uncovered after 112 years of hiding
Yahoo Autos
From Jan. 28: For as much as we talk about barn finds, the window of time for such vehicles tends to be measured in a few decades; any more than that and the ravages of time and memory tend to destroy anything so long abandoned. =Porsche revealed that it had recently acquired the barn find of the century — the first car ever designed by founder Ferdinand Porsche, which hit the roads of Austria in 1898, and has been locked away untouched for the past 112 years.

"I'm that person" — Nichole Danova, PCA 2014 Spring Raffle Winner, shares her story
PCA
From Nov. 11: I am that person. The person who has always dreamed of owning a Porsche and when I finally achieved that dream, I was blessed with a 911 Carrera 4. In just days, and with all the effervescent enthusiasm of a newly certified driver, I was a signed, sealed, and delivered new member of Porsche Club of America, but maybe this isn’t so unusual.

I’m also that person who soon after joining PCA, realized that despite my initial enthusiasm, and the very kind, welcoming members of my local Pocono chapter, I quickly drifted away from regular attendance. I didn’t make time to attend meetings after work, always seemed too busy to attend group outings, although I did at least manage to attend and thoroughly enjoy the holiday year-end party. Once again, maybe this isn’t so unusual.

The unusual twist to my story is, knowing I was helping my local chapter, and never imagining a possibility of actually winning a new Porsche, I have regularly purchased two tickets as soon as the annual members only raffle was announced.

Road & Track
From Feb. 18: Larry Webster writes, "'There is no limit.' That's what Porsche chief propeller-head Wolfgang Hatz said when someone asked him how many violent, Bugatti-quick launches the 911 Turbo S can perform before grenading itself. Frankly, I was surprised at his answer."
