American Tower Corporation announced that it has deployed an outdoor distributed antenna system (DAS) network in Barrington Hills, Illinois in response to increasing wireless coverage needs. The system was completed in February 2010. American Tower has deployed a multi-carrier system in the Barrington Hills area. American Tower's outdoor DAS utilizes existing utility poles in the public right-of-way. AT&T is the anchor tenant on
the system.

Ericsson expected to buy controlling stake in LG-Nortel

The Seoul Economic Daily's Web service is reporting that Ericsson will announce plans to buy a controlling stake in a joint venture between LG Electronics and Nortel Networks. The publication said Ericsson will make the announcement and will buy a 50-percent stake plus one share in LG-Nortel.

Spire Capital invests $15 million in communications tower builder

Tarpon Towers LLC, a company focused on wireless communications towers has picked up a $15 million equity
commitment from Spire Capital Partners. The funds will be used to help Tarpon, based in Bradenton, Fla., secure some of the wireless infrastructure investments that will be made by wireless carriers in the near future to address increased wireless subscriber usage, said Andrew J. Armstrong Jr., managing member at Spire Capital, in a release.
