How to make 25% of world's electricity from solar energy by 2050

The International Energy Agency presented two new solar energy analyses in Valencia, Spain, a Solar Photovoltaic Energy Technology Roadmap and a Concentrating Solar Power Technology Roadmap. The key finding from these is that 20-25 percent of global electricity production could be from solar energy by 2050. More

ProLogis testing products from solar-energy companies

A race began on a roof at a Stapleton Center warehouse, but none of the competitors -- eight of the most advanced brands of solar panels -- made a move. The test program is being conducted by Denver-based ProLogis, an international distribution and warehouse provider. By adding solar panels, said ProLogis chief executive Walt Rakowich, "We can take a nonincome product, a roof, and turn that into an asset." More

New Jersey solar rebate program crashes, lawsuit filed

New Jersey ran out of four months' worth of solar rebates in a day. Less money was available than originally budgeted for in December because Gov. Chris Christie took $158 million from the Clean Energy Fund to help close an $11 billion state budget gap. More than 1,000 people, including some contractors who camped out the night before, claimed $6 million in residential and $1.5 million in non-residential one-time payments when the Office of Clean Energy opened May 3. More
