US joins the world's 10-gigawatt club for solar power

New York governor awards $54 million to fund large solar power projects across the state

New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo has announced that $54 million has been awarded under his NY-Sun initiative for 79 large-scale solar energy projects across the state. The new projects will add 64 megawatts to the state’s solar capacity.

US solar PV demand to grow 20 percent in 2013

The latest NPD Solarbuzz North America PV Markets Quarterly has forecast growing U.S. demand for solar photovoltaic panels throughout the rest of 2013 towards another record high of 4.3 gigawatts, an increase of nearly 20 percent over 2012 levels. Such demand has brought U.S. contribution to the global market to over 12 percent, compared to only 5 percent three years ago.

Mandalay Bay announces plan to build country's 2nd-largest rooftop solar array

Solar energy, pecan shells help a Nevada business save money

Solar panels net $2 million for schools
The Lawrence Ledger
When Lawrence Township school district officials look up at the sky and see the sun, they don't see a yellow orb — they see dollar signs. That's because the New Jersey school district has generated nearly $2 million from the sale of solar energy credits in three years, thanks to the hundreds of solar panels installed on the roofs of the seven school buildings after voters approved a $10.5 million bond referendum in 2008.
