High-tech Brevard businesses vie for photovoltaics research
Florida Today    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
A consortium of high-tech businesses wants to make Brevard County a headquarters for solar energy research in an effort that could help reshape the area's post-shuttle economy and bring thousands of jobs during the next five years. Austin, Texas-based Sematech Inc., which brought together semiconductor developers in the late 1980s to gain dominance in that field, wants to do something similar with photovoltaics, the method of producing electricity from solar radiation. Hyundai Solar coming to Arizona in a big way
The Energy Collective    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
In April, some people were (happily) surprised when the South Korean company, Hyundai, announced it had taken the initial steps to join an international partnership and build the world's largest solar photovoltaicpower plant in southeastern Arizona. At 150 MW, the solar plant outside of Dragoon, Ariz., will be 2.5 times larger than the largest PV plant existing today (a sprawling 60 MW facility in Olmedilla, Spain). More

Help us understand trends in the U.S. solar market -- and win an iPad tablet computer!

The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) has entered into a new partnership with Greentech Media (GTM) Research to develop a national, industry standard resource of solar data. As part of this process, GTM Research is now conducting the first quarterly Installer/Integrator Survey. SEIA encourages all companies involved in any PV, solar thermal (water or space heating/cooling), or solar pool heating installations to fill out this survey. All survey responses will be held confidential and reported only in aggregate for pro-competitive purposes. No data can be traced back to individual respondents.
