DOE gives $8.5 million to grid infrastructure projects
CNET    Share   Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article

Perhaps that's why the Department of Energy announced it's giving $8.5 million to four electric grid projects in the final stages of completion. More

Last chance to participate in first SEIA/GTM national solar survey!
SEIA    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Help us identify trends in the U.S. solar market -- and win an iPad tablet computer! SEIA's new partnership with Greentech Media (GTM) Research is creating a national, standard resource of solar industry data. We encourage all companies involved in any aspect of PV or solar thermal installations to fill out the first quarterly survey. A separate survey for manufacturers follows soon.

All survey responses will be kept confidential and reported only in aggregate. The survey should take less than five minutes of your time and is vital for understanding and reporting trends in the U.S. solar market. GTM and SEIA start publishing results of this quarterly industry survey in October 2010 at Solar Power International in Los Angeles. For more details, please contact

Solar power: Photovoltaic panels make strides in the drive for a sunnier future
The Financial Times    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Germany is hardly the world's sunniest country. Yet for the past decade, its homeowners have put so many photovoltaic panels on their roofs, that last year they accounted for more than half of installations worldwide. The German example demonstrates the power of policy, since a range of generous subsidies has driven the market. However, other factors lie behind the rise of solar power as a competitive form of energy. More
