    PSEG Solar Source has acquired a $50 million solar project in Milford, Del., from Juwi Solar Inc., or JSI, a Colorado energy developer. JSI will engineer and build the project, which is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter. The Delaware Municipal Electric Corp. has agreed to buy the power and the solar renewable energy credits. The 15-megawatt PSEG Milford Solar Farm will be the largest solar farm in Delaware. More

    Honolulu: Solar panel online permitting a success

    Honolulu says its new online permitting system for solar panels has gotten off to a good start. The city said more than 300 permits have been issued in a little more than a day since the self-service system launched the day before. The system allows licensed contractors to go to the Department of Planning and Permitting's website. There, the contractors may issue their own permits for most solar panel installations at single-family residences. More

    IKEA completes its largest US solar project

    Home furnishings retailer IKEA has inaugurated the solar energy system at its Round Rock, Texas, store — which will be the largest of all IKEA solar installations atop U.S. stores. When combined with IKEA projects atop stores in Houston and Dallas-area Frisco, the latest project will make IKEA the state's largest solar owner, according to the company. The 273,700 square-foot PV array consists of a 1.63 MW system built with 6,664 panels. REC Solar Inc. provided development, design and installation services. More

    Veer Energy buys new millennium solar panels for India project

    Veer Energy & Infrastructure Ltd., a Mumbai-based wind-power developer, bought solar panels for its first project in India from U.S.-based New Millennium Solar Equipment Corp. Veer plans to install 400 thin-film panels of 58.5 watts each for a rooftop project in the Sanand district of the western Indian state of Gujarat, the company said in a filing. More

    Sacred Power Corp. of Albuquerque recently signed a $4 million contract with the U.S. Navy to provide solar panels at nine bases around the country. Sacred Power co-owner and COO Odes Armijo-Caster said the company had signed the contract to build and install solar stations. Sacred Power, which makes the SP line of patented solar stations, employs 50. The stations, similar to carports, can be used to charge electric vehicles. More

    Officials: More Arizona solar panels sign of growing green economy

    Covering the 1 million-square-foot roof of a Wal-Mart distribution center, the installation of 14,000 solar panels will produce 30 percent of the building's energy needs.     Kyocera to provide 30 MW of solar panels to Japan's Eurus Energy

    Kyocera Corp. will provide solar panels with a capacity of 30 megawatts to Eurus Energy Holdings Corp. for a site in northern Japan, Kyocera said in a statement posted on its website. Construction of the plant in Shiranuka, Hokkaido, will start in October and operations will begin in March 2014, according to the statement. Eurus Energy is a renewable-energy venture between Toyota Tsusho Corp. and Tokyo Electric Power Co. More
