Salazar visits construction site for 50 megawatt Nevada solar project

Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar visited the Silver State North Solar Project recently, a renewable energy project under construction on U.S. public lands in southern Nevada. With an estimated completion date in December, First Solar Inc.'s 50-megawatt facility would be the first large-scale solar project on public lands to contribute power to the grid. More

California's Gov. Jerry Brown signed legislation recently that restored funding for the California Solar Initiative Rebate Program, including solar rebates for projects in California School Districts. The governor visited Marshall Elementary School in Fowler and signed three bills that bolster the state's commitment to clean energy. More

New Mexico's largest solar plant opens in Carlsbad

The Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA) says it has selected ET Energy Solutions LLC to develop a solar farm on Indianapolis International Airport property. The company is a joint venture (JV) among three locally based firms that bid on the project: Johnson-Melloh Solutions, Schmidt Associates and Telamon Corp. Telamon, a Minority Business Enterprise, is 50 percent owner of the JV. More

New Jersey hospital to add 2.1 megawatts of solar

St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J., announced it is beginning construction this October to install 10,000 solar panels throughout its campus. The 2.1-megawatt project will be the largest solar installation of any hospital in New Jersey to date, and will be distributed across six different locations within the hospital's campus. More
