Hawaii changes solar tax credits

Hawaii's Department of Taxation and Gov. Neil Abercrombie have issued important changes to the state tax credits for residential and commercial systems that narrow and limit the tax credits for residential and commercial systems. The new code is effective on Jan. 1, 2013, and will remain in place for 18 months. DOTAX has initiated proceedings to make this change permanent. More

SolarCity to install solar panels atop 4,700 military homes

SolarCity Corp., a U.S. developer of rooftop power projects, will install 13.2 megawatts of solar panels atop 4,700 homes at U.S. military bases in Texas and New Mexico. The initiative is part of the company's SolarStrong project, which plans to build more than $1 billion in solar projects at as many as 120,000 military homes. More
