You Need to Carry IWB

When it comes to concealing a handgun, inside the waistband holsters (IWB) are the stealthiest way to go.
Most people think that carrying IWB means sacrificing comfort. We highly recommend Old Faithful Holsters' Stealth-Tuck holster to get the job done right.

Tarrant trails only Harris County for the most concealed handgun permits
Fort Worth Star-Telegram    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Curtis Van Liew always knew something bad could happen. Then, one cool fall evening in 1985, on his way home from work, he let a vehicle slide in front of him. Before he knew it, the car behind him had whipped past, cut him off and trapped his vehicle in a construction zone. "Four guys got out, came back to my vehicle, started cussing and throwing punches," said Van Liew, 49, of Watauga. "I had no chance to react." More

Assault weapons ban lacks Democratic votes to pass Senate
Bloomberg    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
A proposed ban on sales of assault weapons would be defeated in the U.S. Senate unless some members changed their current views, based on a Bloomberg review of recent lawmaker statements and interviews. At least six of the 55 senators who caucus with Democrats have recently expressed skepticism or outright opposition to a ban, the review found. That means Democrats wouldn't have a simple 51-vote majority to pass the measure, let alone the 60 votes needed to break a Republican filibuster to bring it to a floor vote. More

PrOlix® Lubricant - A Total Gun Care Product
PrOlix® is a biodegradeable, non-petroleum based solvent/lubricant for firearms. PrOlix® solvent seeks out dirt, oils, grime, etc. (even in small and impossible areas) and floats it away. The chemical action during cleaning develops the DRY lubricant and it is drawn into the pores of the material, creating a skin of protection.

Teachers in Texas learn self-defense and train to disarm gunmen
NBC News    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
VideoBrief Teachers in Texas received some free training on how to disarm a gunman recently. They're getting prepared for what has become a grim reality of workplace and school shootings. Local, San Antonio trainer Pete Hardy of STW 911 Defense wanted to make sure the teachers were trained to become first responders. So he offered to instruct more than 100 teachers from all over Texas the skills and tactics to protect others from the line of fire — in those precious minutes before law enforcement arrives. More

Defensive fundamentals
American Rifleman    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Violent confrontations are usually sudden, dynamic and unpredictable. Avoidance and escape are always at the top of our list of responses, but when this isn't possible an immediate defensive response is required that includes movement, communication, cover and, if needed, shooting. More

Remington R1 carry review
Guns & Ammo    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Remington now offers a Commander-size 1911 carry gun, loaded with what used to be options. But as a production pistol? The Commander-size format is a combination of a shorter slide and barrel with a regular-size frame, in this case, steel — not aluminum alloy. The combination gives us the easier carry size of the slightly smaller pistol with the recoil-dampening effects of steel. That is, mass. As with all compromises, it depends on how much weight you assign to each of the variables. Yes, a lighter pistol is easier to carry, but more difficult to shoot. A smaller one is easier to carry and conceal, but as you make any pistol smaller, you also make it more difficult to shoot. More

Hypocrisy and theatrics as Obama launches campaign against Second Amendment
NRA-ILA    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Recently, the White House accused the NRA of using children as "pawns in a political fight," because we pointed out in an advertisement that while President Barack Obama's children are protected by armed guards at school, their father had shown little interest in armed protection for anyone else's children. The NRA said Obama was being hypocritical. The White House said NRA ad ad was "repugnant and cowardly." Minutes later, Obama surrounded himself with children, to announce that he will use "whatever weight this office holds" to get Congress to prohibit all private sales of firearms, ban "military-style assault weapons" and impose a "10-round limit on magazines." As if to acknowledge that few adults are agreeing with him, Obama said the voices of children "should compel us to change." More

Texas lawmaker files bill to openly carry handguns
The Associated Press via Longview News-Journal    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
A Republican lawmaker has filed a bill that would allow Texans to openly carry handguns in public places. Texarkana Rep. George Lavender introduced the bill, the same day that Democratic Sen. Diane Feinstein of California filed a bill to ban the sale of assault weapons nationally. Lavender's bill would allow people who hold concealed handgun licenses to also carry their weapons openly in public. Otherwise the license holder must follow the same rules they have to follow with concealed handguns. More

Legislation filed for colleges to allow concealed handguns
The Associated Press via The Sulphur Springs News-Telegram    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
The recent gunfire at a Houston-area college prompted new calls for allowing concealed handgun license holders to carry their weapons into Texas college buildings and classrooms as a measure of self-defense. Texas lawmakers already are considering a bill that allows concealed handguns in college classrooms. A similar measure failed in 2011, but December's shooting at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn., had already helped renew the debate over safety in schools and recent gunfire at Lone Star College had supporters looking to rally more support. Number of nation's sheriffs refusing to enforce unconstitutional gun laws snowballs
CNS News    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
From Florida to California, a growing number of the nation's sheriffs are standing up to gun control measures proposed by both the administration and Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif. Many law enforcement officials have written letters to President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden voicing their concerns over what they believe is an effort to infringe upon the Second Amendment. In New Mexico, 30 of the state's 33 county sheriffs have reminded state lawmakers that they are under oath to support the U.S. Constitution, and that includes the Second Amendment. More
