You Need to Carry IWB

When it comes to concealing a handgun, inside the waistband holsters (IWB) are the stealthiest way to go.
Most people think that carrying IWB means sacrificing comfort. We highly recommend Old Faithful Holsters' Stealth-Tuck holster to get the job done right.

Police Chief's testimony '40 percent bypass background checks' is false
The Daily Caller    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Testimony from Baltimore County Police Chief James Johnson: "From November 2011 to November 2012, an estimated 6.6 million firearm transactions occurred without a background check. Up to 40 percent of firearm transactions occur through private individuals rather than licensed gun dealers. Allowing 40 percent of those acquiring guns to bypass background checks is like allowing 40 percent of airline passengers to board a plane without going through airport security." More

The Examiner    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Deluging the Senate Judiciary Committee with facts and figures that some members clearly did not want to hear, three gun rights advocates and some pro-gun members of the panel hammered proposed bans on so-called "assault weapons" and "high capacity" magazines during a four-hour hearing that was loaded with surprises. More and more Texans carrying concealed weapons
Fort Worth Star-Telegram via RYOT    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Curtis Van Liew always knew something bad could happen. Then, one cool fall evening in 1985, on his way home from work, he let a vehicle slide in front of him. Before he knew it, the car behind him had whipped past, cut him off and trapped his vehicle in a construction zone. "Four guys got out, came back to my vehicle, started cussing and throwing punches," said Van Liew, 49, of Watauga, Texas. "I had no chance to react. They broke every tooth out of my head that night ... and they left me for dead. Because I let a car get in front of me." He vowed that he would never again be helpless in the face of an attack. Van Liew is among a growing number of Texans who hold licenses to carry concealed handguns. More

Texas lawmakers say shots on college campus show need for concealed weapons bill
The Republic    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Recent gunfire at a Houston-area college prompted new calls for allowing concealed handgun license holders to carry their weapons into Texas college buildings and classrooms as a measure of self-defense. Texas lawmakers already are considering a bill that allows concealed handguns in classrooms. A similar measure failed in 2011, but the December shooting at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn., had already helped renew the debate over safety in schools and gunfire at Lone Star College had supporters looking to rally more support. Gun shortage affects Texas police agencies
KXAN-TV    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Some small law enforcement agencies in Texas say a rising demand for assault weapons and other guns is making it difficult for them to buy their own. Police departments in Round Rock, Rollingwood and elsewhere are seeing months-long delays on tactical rifles. Rollingwood Police Chief Dayne Pryor says he blames "panic buying" for the shortage as well as specially designed weapons proving hard to come by. More

The 1st gun phenomenon — Training and practice
Ammo Land    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
With the tens of thousands of first time gun owners having purchased a firearm in the last thirty to forty-five days, we have a situation where there are a plethora of gun owners but not trained shooters. The first step in that addressing that situation is to congratulate them for taking the very first step; buying the hardware. The next step is to get the software or education and experience. No one is born a good shooter. There are definitely natural athletes, but using a firearm effectively takes both mental and physical skill. Whether you have just purchased your first gun or have owned one for years; training and practice are the keys to proficiency, confidence and ultimately success. More

Keeping quail hunting going with another generation of hunters
Star Local News    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Luke Clayton, a contributor to Star Local News, writes: "Back in the mid-1960s, when I was fourteen, shooting quail was a part of life I thought would never change. When I wanted to go quail hunting, I either walked up the covey behind our farmhouse in east Texas or, on those special Saturday mornings, was invited to tag along with my brother-in-law and his big, raw-boned, white pointer Toler. Watching that hard-working, old pointer cast downwind of a likely patch of quail cover, seeing him go on point and then walking up behind him to flush the birds and push a load of chilled No. 8-shot after the departing brown bombshells was the experience that I best remember about my formative quail hunting years. It's the stuff that got me really hook on upland bird hunting." More
