You Need to Carry IWB

When it comes to concealing a handgun, inside the waistband holsters (IWB) are the stealthiest way to go.
Most people think that carrying IWB means sacrificing comfort. We highly recommend Old Faithful Holsters' Stealth-Tuck holster to get the job done right.

Cruz: Constitutional gun rights must be protected 'not just when popular'
The Associated Press via CBS News    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, top Republican on the Senate Judiciary subcommittee, expressed sympathy for those directly affected by gun violence. But he added that constitutional rights must be protected "not just when they're popular, but especially when passions are seeking to restrict and limit those rights." Cruz said he believed that "stripping the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens does nothing to stop criminals" from committing violent acts. More

State of the Union intensifies gun fight
Roll Call    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
The passion of gun owners has met the passion of protective moms in the fight over firearms restrictions, which intensified as President Barack Obama delivered his State of the Union address. Against all odds, a coalition that includes suburban moms, religious leaders, mayors and long-embattled gun safety lobbyists has set out to neutralize the grass-roots power of the 4.5 million-member National Rifle Association. It's a tall order, but gun safety groups say they've drawn money and members since the December mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. More

According to data compiled by the FBI, the number of Americans purchasing guns has skyrocketed since Obama was elected. In 2009, there were 13,984,953 background checks for Americans buying firearms. COMMENTARY: What is an Assault Weapon?
M. George Eichenberg, Ph.D.    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Controlling definitions of key terms is perhaps more central to the gun rights debate than most gun owners (and writers) are aware. Nowhere is this more true than that aspect of the debate concerning so-called assault weapons. "Why do you need an assault weapon?" is a not uncommon question. We usually (hopefully) attempt to respond to the question with a rational, well-reasoned explanation of why we want or need such firearms. More

New bill to allow firearm education in Texas schools
Examiner    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Texas state representative James White introduced a bill that would allow a firearm education course to be taught in Texas high schools. In the bill, HB1142, it states that "purpose of a course under this section is to teach the history and importance of the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution and to teach respect for and proper use of firearms." The proposed course is required to teach the history of the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution, training in the use of firearms (including rifles, pistols, revolvers, shotguns), maintenance and cleaning of firearms and instruct on hunting safety. NRA charges Obama's efforts will lead to gun confiscation
CNN    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
The National Rifle Association will assert that President Barack Obama's attempt to enact new gun control laws will result in the "confiscation" of people's firearms in a new Web video scheduled to run in five states and the District of Columbia. The video went online around the time Obama began delivering his State of the Union address. In the speech, Obama mentioned his effort to reduce gun violence through legislative means. More

Selecting a defensive holster
American Rifleman    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Too often people spend a lot of time and thought on selecting the proper defensive handgun and then choose the holster to carry it in as an afterthought. In reality, selecting the proper defensive holster is almost as important as the gun itself. Fortunately there are a broad array of holsters, of all makes and materials, from which to choose. With a little thought, time and experimentation, it is really quite easy to find the rig that suits you best. More

Olympic Arms is a staunch believer in and defender of the Constitution of the United States, and with special attention paid to the Bill of Rights that succinctly enumerates the security of our divinely given rights. One of those rights is that to Keep and Bear Arms. Due the passing of this legislation, Olympic Arms would like to announce that the state of New York, any law enforcement departments, law enforcement officers, first responders within the state of New York, or any New York state government entity or employee of such an entity — will no longer be served as customers. Keys to being a responsible gun owner
Guns & Ammo    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
There's no need to dig into the specifics of this latest swing of the political pendulum because it's the same story as before. A criminal has harmed and killed innocent people with firearms. Therefore, those in power must "do something" about it right now. And, as in the past, rather than pursuing criminal prosecutions and enforcing existing laws, politicians and lobbyists are blaming the Average Joes and the types of guns they choose to own. More
