United Nations attacks Second Amendment
Info Wars
Walter Kälin, a Swiss international human rights lawyer who sits on the committee, criticized the "extreme domestic habits" of Americans, including the upholding the cornerstone to the Constitution, the Second Amendment. Kälin cited a "staggering figure" to argue in favor of eliminating the right to own guns — there are 470,000 crimes committed with firearms each year, including about 11,000 homicides. "We appreciate the position taken by President Obama on these issues. Nevertheless, much more needs to be done to curb gun violence," he said.

Home defense for the family
American Rifleman
Very few would argue that having a home-defense plan is not an important thing. Unfortunately, most folks limit the scope of their thinking unnecessarily when considering home defense. Home defense is not just about using a firearm to defend against a violent criminal attack. It is also about defending the home and family against fire, tornadoes, hurricanes, floods and any other situation, man-made or not, that places the family in danger.

Smart gun manufacturer is not purchasing freedom group
Breitbart
A story running on The Truth about Guns and other websites suggested firearm conglomerate Freedom Group could potentially be purchased by "smart gun" manufacturer Global Digital Solutions Inc. The implication is that GDSI would buy Freedom Group, forcing Remington, Bushmaster, DPMS, H&R and other manufacturers under Freedom's umbrella to adopt "smart gun" technology.

Miller: Law enforcement realizes good people with guns deter crime
The Washington Times
When President Barack Obama makes a pitch for more gun-control laws, he likes to have a phalanx of blue-uniformed police officers behind him. These press conferences are supposed to convince us that law enforcement believes more restrictions on Second Amendment rights makes society safer. But Obama's visual is a deception, because only a few liberal, big-city police chiefs continue to put politics over public safety.

A bill currently in the U.S. House of Representatives would do away with the patchwork of state reciprocity laws and establish a uniform right to carry concealed firearms across all 50 states. This bill, the National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act of 2013, was introduced last August and would treat concealed carry permits like driver's licenses, allowing current permit holders to carry in any other state that issues permits.

20 years of Brady Law failure
Ammo Land
The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence is touting the 20th anniversary of implementation of the Brady Law, requiring that buyers at gun shops pass a background check before every purchase. They're marking the anniversary with a "report" extolling the program's success and promoting their current target: criminalization of private firearm transfers. The catch phrase for that campaign is "Finish the job." The problem is that the job will never be finished.

This is what happens when you shoot 300 BLK in a 5.56 rifle
Guns.com
This shooter was lucky. If that hadn't been a bull barrel that thing would have split apart like a banana. Apparently the mag blew out and the firearm didn't go unpunished. We have to assume the cartridge chambered by driving the bullet deep into the case. That would certainly be possible with sub-sonic loads, which leave a lot of case space unused. That would also help prevent an even more catastrophic failure.
