Obama administration launches national travel, tourism strategy

The Obama administration has launched a national strategy to increase the number of international visitors in the United States to 100 million annually, with $250 billion in spending, by 2021 and to restore the U.S. as the No. 1 international destination in the world. To reach that goal, Commerce Secretary John Bryson and Interior Secretary Ken Salazar announced the administration's National Tourism and Travel Strategy — delivering on Obama's call in January for a national strategy to promote domestic and international travel opportunities throughout the United States.More
