Alvarion has won a deal worth more than $12 million to supply WiMAX equipment and services for the first phase of a project in Taiwan, China. The deal was awarded by VMAX Telecom, which plans to deploy WiMAX equipment and services initially in the northern Taiwan counties of Taoyuan and Hsinchu. More

BMI's updated annual report on Slovakia's telecoms market extends forecasts to 2016 and includes data from the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of the Slovak Republic for the first half of 2011. Based on market data published by Slovakia's three mobile network operators, BMI calculates there were 6.285 million mobile subscribers in the country at the end of September. More
